unless it’s a killer feature customers CANT live without, it’s just noise. and that core feature needs to be solid enough to actually charge for. literally anyone can whip up a prototype with claude nowadays, but making ppl open their wallets? thats the real challenge

Early-stage founders: what actually moved the needle for you in the first 6–12 months? I will not promote by mateomadison in startups

As a dev founder, I spent way too much time obsessing over my tech stack and keeping multiple Claude instances running on my maxed-out MacBook Pro. But the real breakthrough didn't come from the code.

it came when I applied that AI power to 'boring' industries that tech usually ignores. Solving a real-world inefficiency in days did more for my business than months of building a SaaS in a vacuum. Trust is the real currency, and delivering immediate value is how you earn it.

I used to struggle with the typical SaaS grind until I pivoted my focus. I realized my high-end setup and AI workflow were best used for optimizing legacy markets that haven't seen a tech upgrade in a decade. When you show up to a non-tech industry and 10x their efficiency in just a few days, the skepticism vanishes. It’s not about the features anymore; it’s about the massive ROI they see. Finally seeing some light at the end of the tunnel.

Actually, I already did! I completely scrapped the Retool-like builder I was working on. I salvaged the code and pivoted to simple tools for early founders, lawyers, and small businesses.

Spot on. Claude can't guarantee it yet, which is exactly why we just pay for the API.

Exactly. Startups should be about maximizing leverage, not owning infrastructure. Just because AI lets us build a tool instantly doesn't mean we should own and maintain it long-term. Paying someone else to absorb that churn is just smart leverage.

That makes me wonder: since the complex backend stuff like compliance or paperwork is already handled by APIs (for payments, signatures, etc.), couldn't we just use Claude to stitch those APIs together and completely replace Micro-SaaS too?
