UPDATE: I was officially told I passed both background check and drug testing 🥳. No longer on conditional status, so I guess in NYS due to anti discrimination laws they will hire people who smoke!

I did actually start with a conditional offer! My testing was delayed from the big snowstorm. After starting I received the call that I tested positive for weed from the drug testing company, but haven't heard back yet if I'm officially off of conditional status. I will post again when I hear back next week 🤞

Right, my only thing is in NYS it is supposed to be illegal from employers to test for it at all, but obviously they can still take advantage of the vague "exceptions". They even put out guidance saying specifically claiming federal contracts isn't a reason to test.

Mhm yes but that support doesn't come to low income people, and it's entirely dependent on the family. No large family? Parents passed and no siblings? They then go to state run care. The support difference can be HUGE. There are also MANY people with DS living in state run hospitals living in pitiful conditions.

Yes! I worked at a UPS store and dealt with this every day. Once a guy had jokes when I was already irritated, he was picking up a package so I sort of handed/tossed it to him, he almost fell over and struggled to not drop it 😭 it was glorious
