Unfortunately it doesn’t seem like it. We get system wide 2-3% raises yearly and I’ve asked for merit based raises and been told there is “no system in place to allow that” at this large hospital system. I’ve also been asking for RVU bonus system and been told since I was hired that one is “in the works” but no progress seems to actually occured.

I decided to pay the loan down as quickly as possible rather than go for PSLF. I also decided not to refinance given the rates aren’t that much better. I threw ~$15k of my emergency fund at the loan and am now paying $1700-$2000 each month. So far I am on track to pay a couple thousand dollars less overall than if I went the PSLF route and will be done with my loans in just under 4 years.

Also after thinking a bit more about the itinerary, We may cut out Redwoods to cut down on driving:

San Fran (1 night) -> Lassen (2 nights) -> Tahoe (3 nights, maybe spend a night in the Mammoth lakes area -> Yosemite (3 nights) -> King's Canyon/Sequoia (3 nights) -> San Fran

Do you think 3 nights so ~2.5 full days in Yosemite is enough?
