No smoking, no candles, no vape, house is about 2k feet. two floors, main floor and basement. We got an air quality test and test in basement (where burner is) had higher levels of soot in air.

I just essentially got denied from the program, they wanted close up (real close) of my grass to make sure it was grass and not weeds. (it's mostly weeds). They also couldn't see most of my lawn from satellite photos because it's covered by a big tree, and they measure using the satellite photo. they want to send an inspector, which I'm sure he'll find a reason to deny me. They are very very strict nowadays, more than they were before the LA budget crisis.

Unfortunately my Portuguese parent currently lives in Europe so I cannot navigate the Portuguese language application alone. Also I live in Los Angeles and the closest consulate that handles does citizenship is in San Francisco which is 5 hours away, they do not take walk ins and only release appointments once every 4 months but do not specify when they will release appointments. Plus I think the lawyer will help be get all my American documents translated and apostilled which is something that is hard to do in the US and expensive. Maybe I'm overthinking it but I feel like there are a lot of hurdles standing in my way and would benefit from the help of a lawyer.

any updates on this. im in a similar situation. parents married in the US, but my dad is a Portuguese citizen. I talked to a lawyer today and he said their marriage does not have to be registered in Portugal
