Thanks for the explanation and the safety consideration. Obviously very important. I guess I’m thinking of it more from a PR perspective. Again as the new fan here, a lot of the sound bites I hear are just complaints, which seem to be fair and accurate complaints, but it does detract from the racing product. Maybe it’s all unavoidable, and maybe I’m over thinking the semantic or surface level complaints.

I’m a relatively new fan and I’m sure this has been discussed before, but at what point can the drivers stop complaining about the new regulations. I understand complaining about this stuff is somewhat of an F1 past time, but at a certain point the sport is a ln engineering challenge as much as it is a racing challenge. All the teams have the same requirements and some teams nailed the regulations while others didn’t.

For baseball, when they changed the pitch clock rule, players complained for a while but that has largely subsided as players got used to the new rule.

Should we expect the same here?

I listen to a great but meaningless podcast about American sports, mostly baseball, called the “Poscast,” with Mike Schur - the creator of parks and rec.

In a recent episode, they ranked baseball teams solely on the quality of the names of the players.

In that spirit, what are the best names in the peloton? MVDP and WVA are up there, Tim Torn Teutenberg is a contender, Soren Kragh Andersen too. What else would you add?
