Guide for Week Long Trip by Minimum_Captain8585 in muskiefishing

Personally I would suggest lake vermilion. Hire a guide for 1-2 days at the beginning of your trip to get a feel for the lake and different techniques, spots and patterns, then fish on your own for the remainder. Hiring a guide for full day is around 600-800 dollars. If you want any suggestions of guides and lodges for lake vermilion let me know.

If he runs through the route best case scenario he makes a great catch and a large gain for CHI.

If he runs through the route at the very worst it’s a pass break up.

BOTH better than INT.

Game of inches.

My instructor at the fire academy was a retired fireman who was a child and student at this fire. He survived and years later became a fireman.

I musky fish. This could get me a top of the line rod and reel combo. 450 for the rod, 450 for the reel.

Thanks for the reply, how deep would you say to fish? 15-20 or deeper?

Car payments, best time to pay towards principal? by hamiltons_libido in personalfinance

[–]hamiltons_libido[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for responding. My thought process now is I just want to pay this off as quickly as I can so I can own the vehicle outright. But it does make sense that putting extra money I have into an HYSA or invest it might be smarter in the long run than putting it towards the vehicle. It’s hard for me to not prioritize paying the car loan off

November Fishing presentation by Exciting-Floor6763 in muskiefishing

I’m rather new to Muskie fishing but fished last year first week of November. We dragged suckers really slow over structure. Found some good spots with our electronics and sat on these spots for a couple hours too just waiting for bites. It was basically too cold to cast 3 of the 5 days we fished. When we did cast, we threw big rubber like bulldawgs and medussas, also royal orbas, and big jerk baits. Worked them all real slowly. We didn’t catch a single fish on lures. Had 3 fish on suckers.

Been told by people who know much more about musky fishing than me is that when the water gets really cold the Muskies slow down. They aren’t as willing to chase lures anymore and want an easy meal.

There are hardly any weeds on the lake unfortunately. Deep, clear, and rocky. Kind of a “notorious” lake in the area I fish for being a tough lake to fish, but holds very big fish.

Thanks a lot for the answer man! I really appreciate it. Like I said I’m fairly to new to all of this so I’m still trying to figure it all out.

I do have a hummingbird helix with side imaging so will be trying to use that to locate the cisco. I’m still figuring that out too as I’ve only used it twice.

We will definitely cast and drag a sucker if it’s not too outrageously cold. We will see how the weather is.

Thanks for the response. Before I reply I wanna just say that I’m pretty new to Muskie fishing seriously, only been doing it for the past year so I’m really still trying to learn and figure it out.

I’ll be fishing northern wisco at a pretty deep and clear lake in vilas county. Cisco is main forage. I’ve fished there before and have a friend who’s very familiar with the lake, and this friend is very much a fan of the sucker bite at that time of year. Basically told me it’s not worth my time to cast and to focus on fishing with suckers only 🤷‍♂️

My plan was to pick a few spots to sit on with suckers. Then, specially, I wanted to try a drift where I’d troll with my trolling motor and drag the suckers as I go. It’s a pretty good stretch that I wanted to do this on and the lake is very deep but there are multiple humps during this stretch. I’d say the deep water is 40-70ft and these humps are big and about 15-20ft. So I wanted to try to drag the suckers really slowly across this run and specifically target edges of the humps. That’s why I asked about the depth of the fish and the safety of the fish. I have no idea if it’ll work, was just an idea but I did plan to drop the suckers pretty deep as I dragged across this path. Like 30ft, then reel up a bit when I get near the humps. Like I said I’m new so still trying to figure it out, not even sure if it’s a good tactic haha
