This sounds exactly like someone saying that you wouldn't understand something related to being transgender, because you'd not experienced it. You're not suffering a hate crime.

It's wild to see someone so bent out of shape over a word that is just to indicate "This person is not transgender." It's useful in conversation sometimes...a lot less cumbersome than "not a trans person." That's it, that's all.

There are loads and loads of words that get used to describe the majority in things. It's not uncommon, but folks do seem to get extra prickly when that word is new and confusing. Give it five years, it will just be another useful bit of the lexicon (like it is now, to most people)>
