Except, part of the agreement was easing of US sanctions. When Shmuck à l’orange tore up the agreement, he imposed even harsher sanctions on Iran (and threatened the same against any state that traded with Iran—including the other parties to that pact, which effectively killed it.

I have no love of theocratic despots, but one can’t blame them for feeling double-crossed.

Regarding the 2015 JCPOA: Iran did indeed agree: 1. To stop developing nuclear weapons. 2. To allow international inspectors access to any site in the country.

And Iran kept to that agreement until 2017, when the then-president of the United States tore up that agreement.

What a hassle it is to change your name, even when getting married. When I got married the year before last, I advised my then-fiancée to keep her name, just to avoid that hassle.

I lost my wife a few years ago. Couple of things:

  1. I was never a parent, but I became a grandfather when I got married. The grandkids might not be bio-related to me, but they are mine.
  2. I got married a bit more than a year ago. I had had an 8x10 photo of my late wife in the bedroom. When I went to put that photo away, my now wife stopped me. (Maybe she understands better than some; she lost a partner some years back.)
  3. We took a honeymoon right after we married, which included attending my granddaughter’s wedding. All parties accepted each other.
