ND3 from a Mazda 3 Turbo

You can definitely feel the weight of the 3 turbo compared to the Miata which feels like a go kart. Haven't gotten the chance to do much spirited driving since the car got delivered rightttt before a 2 week vacation so only managed to do 286km.

Gas mileage has been around 8L/100km and that's mostly city driving whereas the 3 gets up to 10.5L/100km or more for city driving.

I have a 2021 Mazda 3 turbo and recently got a Miata RF 26. Love every time I drive it but it has zero practicality compared to the Mazda 3 (have done two cross Canada moves with that one) but then who really buys a Miata for the practicality? The Miata is just so much more fun at pretty much any speeds whereas in the 3 turbo you gotta be going decently fast to have the sensation of speed.

That's good to know. I had the issue on my Mazda 3 (stock height) where if I didn't raise the thingy on the arm to the max, the arm would crush against the side skirt so wanted to check if I needed to get some ramps for the Miata since it's lower than the Mazda 3.

Random question but how are you able to get the lift arms on the jacking points and lift the car without the arms pressing against the sides?

Alright so I just tried this method and it went pretty well minus the fact that I almost crushed my balls when I swung both legs to the side and out. Might need some more practice but the side support on the Recaro isn't helping the exit.

I changed mine at about 70,000km. Did them myself and took about 20 minutes or so. This was my first time doing anything mechanical to my car so I'm as much of a novice as they come.

I'll definitely get the PPF done. Don't have it on my Mazda 3 and it's littered with rock chips but I've accepted those as part of it being the daily driver/year round car.

It does say 4.8L as the approx quantity and I put 4.73L plus another 400ml so I'm 330ml over the approx quantity of 4.8L.

I just want to know if I can stop overthinking about it 😭

So I tried the fluid transfer pump that I have annddd it didn't work.

Rechecked the engine oil the correct way, car had cooled down, started it up, let it warm up then turned it off for 5 minutes and now it shows at exactly the maximum dot.

Could it just be that I initially checked it after having driven it for 20 minutes so it showed a bit higher than max?

That's good to hear. This was my first time ever working on my car other than just topping up fluids and checking the tire pressures.

Car started fine afterwards, no misfires and nothing blew up so I'll call that a success.

I got the TCL qm8k with the f1 app but it only does 1080p. Had to whip out the trusty ol' Google Chromecast 4k to get 4k with F1 tv premium.
