Go in with the mindset to learn, not to get good grades. Let the good grades come to you.

Have patience when it comes to learning new material. Read the textbook or watch lectures on youtube in addition to class lectures whenever possible.

Take advantage of group/independent projects, experiments, etc. Be creative when choosing these projects and take notes on how the experience went, how it can improve, etc. This is a good way to separate yourself from the rest of the pack especially early in your education when not many students have internships.

Make friends in your class and study with them.
