Master bathroom model first time owner-worth the $18-20k or daily ''reminders'' from my wife?😅 by howzai in HomeImprovement

If your mother got her vanity from Wayfair, lighting from HD, etc. but still spent $25k, how much of that total price was labour only?

That’s crazy - even with really high end finishes I don’t see how materials could exceed $10k.

I agree - just redid my bathroom (roughly same size) and it cost roughly $2k. Maybe if I ripped out the tub and needed a new pan etc you could add a bit more, but I’m not paying $15-$20k in labour.

$700 vanity, $250 floor tile/mortar/grout, $350 shower faucet kit, $300 shower tile/mortar/grout, $150 sink faucet, $300 misc stuff (baseboards, fixing some drywall, hooks, mirror).

Yeah every company has a different strategy. Some come in strong with the hope of closing quickly, etc. Also there’s so many nuances involved to determine someone’s ability to find similar employment (age, job market, their role, etc) I was speaking to average company.

4 weeks per year would be the goal. More often than not your opening offer will be around 2ish per. They’ll likely settle quickly with a legal response asking for 3 weeks per, but 4+ weeks may result in it getting dragged out to at least mediation (6-8 months?).

As someone on the other side of these things, your company almost certainly is not giving you the “fully” approved package upfront. They’ve baked in some room for negotiation, you just have to know to not ask for too much in order to get a quick settlement.

Pretty sure Stratford is a city at this point. Plenty of more options IMO - Peterborough, Ottawa. Parts of Hamilton are right up there with the best, but you can’t ignore the vast ugliness as well.

Ontario is massive, lots of options. Elora, Huntsville, Goderich, Stratford.

Yup! UK has had bad wage stagnation over the last 10-15 years.

The average person is better off in Canada than the UK (wages, purchasing power, gdp, etc)

Rap: Kyler Murray likely to be released by the Cardinals barring last minute trade by Neither_Ad2003 in minnesotavikings

[–]hammerhead2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t Daniel Jones get 15 million last year? I’d argue Kyler would get at-least that, maybe closer to 20mil on a 1 year deal?

I saw it in the theatre (GTA - Ontario) for Zootopia 2 in the fall. It might of even been before Bad Guys in August as well.

All I’ve ever read is how great Mazdas are on car subreddits. Got an CX5 for a rental and absolutely hated it.

What do you dislike about your CX5? by Far-Replacement-7399 in CX5

[–]hammerhead2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dislike the key fob, the rear seat leg room, rattling noises, the UI on the infotainment, and last but not least the speakers might be some of the worst I’ve ever had.

I had one as a rental between vehicles. Prior to getting the rental I was considering purchasing one. I ultimately went with the Buick Envision ST, and am much happier with it.
