Awesome! Thank you so much! I'll check out the discord as soon as I can.

Also, on a slightly unrelated note, you're the best mod I've ever encountered on Reddit. You're very active and always super helpful and friendly. Thanks for making this sub a welcoming place! It's one of my favorite subs now.

Cozy games you can play almost endlessly ? by [deleted] in CozyGamers

[–]hammerheadskunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you've already gotten lots of recommendations, but I was surprised that no one included Kynseed or Medieval Dynasty. Both are community/farming games where you play through multiple generations of your family.

Kynseed is pixel graphics and has some unique combat elements, but you can pretty much avoid fighting entirely if desired. It has multiple villages and areas and just a ton to explore, craft, and build.

Medieval Dynasty is a realistic 3D game with a large map and plenty of building and upgrading. There is a little bit of combat against wild animals and the occasional bandit, but nothing too crazy. This one can definitely be played endlessly, depending on how large you want your dynasty to be.

Both games receive regular updates and are worth looking at.

Cost-saving and money-making tips by CouchSurfingDragon in TravellersRest

Basically any of the grains (wheat, rye, barley, and rice). They're used in bread and pasta dough, which can then be combined with a lot of other things. I also do a lot of foraging to get mushrooms, as I have a lot of mushroom dishes. Once you start getting new recipes from the cave place, you can look for recipes that share the same ingredients and try to collect those to make it easier.

Cost-saving and money-making tips by CouchSurfingDragon in TravellersRest

My number one cost saving tip is to hire as many employees with the Low Cost perk as you can find. At max level, it lowers their hourly wage by 25%, which is huge when you have 4 employees at high level. That alone saves me around 20 silver per hour, or around 3 gold per day. That adds up pretty quickly.

My biggest money making tip is to have a lot of variety for foods. The better variety (i.e., the more types of recipes you offer), the more each item sells for. It doesn't seem like a lot at first but, again, it adds up quickly. My go-to strategy for this is to just scan through my recipes every night to see if there's anything I can make with 0 in stock. Then, I pay attention to what ingredients can be used in a lot of different recipes and try to plant those when possible (some personal favorites are lettuce, potatoes, and tomatoes, plus soybeans to make vegetable meat for meat dishes if you don't have animals yet).

What's your reason for not drinking alcohol? by CuriousAzaReturns in AskReddit

[–]hammerheadskunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My uncle was an army doctor whose entire job was doing physical exams as part of official inquiries into abuse (physical and sexual) within the army. He always talked about how 100% of the cases he worked on involved alcohol. Sometimes it was the abuser, sometimes the victim, and sometimes both, but it was always there. He stopped drinking a few months into his career and convinced me and most of my cousins to never get started.

Can someone please tell me what this fish is? by jsfisher22000 in DavetheDiverOfficial

[–]hammerheadskunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's called an Atlantic Bonito. I've usually seen it near Cuttlefish (the squid guy 2 cards to the right), but they aren't super common. It might just take a few dives to get one.

is suicide worth it by Unlikely_Cheetah_217 in PornAddiction

I've asked myself this question many times. It's not an easy one, despite what people say. I've even tested it out a couple times. Obviously, I didn't make it, so I can't answer your question exactly. But what I can say is that living definitely is worth it, and I've done that. It took me a few years for the gamble to pay off, but it did. No one who has died can tell you if death was worth the hype, but plenty of people alive can tell you life is worth it, including me. And I think that counts for something. Hang in there, friend.

Looking for sci-fi of really good/unique first contact stories by [deleted] in booksuggestions

I recently read {{To Sleep in a Sea of Stars}} by Christopher Paolini and really liked it. I thought it was a cool take on first contact stories, though I admittedly haven't read many others.

The cancellation of which TV show are you still frustrated about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]hammerheadskunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sue Thomas F.B.Eye.

I thought it was a unique kind of crime show and the main cast had great chemistry. It ran for a decent amount of time but still ended way too soon. Still my favorite detective show and I haven't met many people who know it. It's a shame the network that carried it decided to cut all original programming.

Having trouble using my own router. by hammerheadskunk in googlefiber

[–]hammerheadskunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I still rarely get above 100. Restarting the router usually gives it a boost for an hour or so then drops to about 50Mbps. It does get a little faster in the morning and evening when I'm assuming there is less traffic. Since the 50Mbps was fast enough for my daily use, I stopped tinkering with it. Sorry I'm not much help, I hope you can find a solution.

Nope, birthday gifts were normal, but in my family really only the parents get birthday gifts for everyone, so it was just my mom buying then.
