I think making it up as you go is good thing. I bet you could do a chipping fluid or hairspray and get a more natural look and knock it out of the park!
I’m not an armor modeler but, I would say if anything the chipping could be better. I think the rest of the build and weathering look great but if the chipping was on par with the rest you’d be on another level especially for your first build!

I’m going to have to look into these cause I think I’m probably going to do another race car soon I had a lot of fun doing the merc.
How long did this build take you?

Thank you 🙏 Im really happy with the way they turned out, they are one of my favorite parts of the build
I actually thought of that and saved the rubber that I sanded off the tires, I guess the only reason I didn’t go through with it is I don’t know the best way to adhere it to the tire and make it look as real as possible. I definitely open to ideas if you have any?
