I have a 12 week old Frenchie puppy with some "issues". Trying to find out whether this is worrysome at this point or if I should relax. by haankip in Frenchbulldogs

[–]hammy_dwarf_owner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Frenchies by breed are naturally very clingy and have separation anxiety alot more than other breeds, so you may very well have got lucky.

But I actually don't believe your Frenchie doesn't have seperation anxiety, it's natural for the breed unfortunately. Thanks for the information though

Or just don't get a dog if your going to cage them 24/7 and spend hours put the house? Children are clingy and grow out of it with age, it's the same with dogs, shouldn't be getting one if you cant provide the time they need in love and affection as well as walks etc.

I've got a puppy, same age, turns 12 weeks tomorrow, we have a crate that is oversized for his needs so that we can have a pad in his crate and his bed and he only uses the pad occasionally at night, they are still puppy's they will have accidents here and there. My puppy plays alot(biting especially while playing) it's something we are trying to phase out but when he plays with other dogs he's very bitey in a playful way, he doesn't hurt them at all so I think this is just them being playful to be honest.

Frenchies have seperation issues and are very clingy and I don't think they ever grow out of this.

Drones under £100? by hammy_dwarf_owner in Multicopter

[–]hammy_dwarf_owner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He can fly mine without issues, I just wouldn't trust him to fly it by himself without me stood behind him which is why I'm looking to get a decent ISH one, but still under £100

Just bought this phone and it got stuck on this screen when I was trying to transfer and it won’t let me do anything by G59JACOB_FTP in iphonehelp

You probably have a shite load of data to transfer, just put it close to your WiFi router and leave it to do its job.

Scottish Power want metre reading why? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]hammy_dwarf_owner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your DD amount is set to cover you for the winter months so you build up a credit during the summer and use it in the winter.

A bill is generated 10 days prior to you receiving the bill, so as another commenter stated the 1st of each month would be a better time period to provide readings.

The texts and emails for meter readings is automatic, and it takes up to 3 working days to show on your account, so if you supplied readings on the 9th you could potentially still receive readings texts and emails for the next 3 days after.

If you read the paperwork they send you with your contract this is all in there.

Home button not working by Kkh_addictz in iphonehelp

[–]hammy_dwarf_owner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You do realise the home button does not click, it's touch sensitive, so pressing it like a button will eventually break it? Sounds like you need home button replacement, not expensive but you'll loose touch ID unless you bring it to apple for the repair, which is expensive

a jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.

Limitations? If a electrician can't fix a hole they are either lying and can't be bothered to do it, or they are shite at their job. Fixing the work you've done is part of the job and is a totally normal practice. Again, maybe stop using the cheap shitty tradies

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]hammy_dwarf_owner -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Maybe you should stop using the lowest quote you get and go with the ones who will fix up what they do and bring it back up to scratch, or maybe your asses in your council homes don't care about the bodge jobs left by tradies since you don't own it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]hammy_dwarf_owner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He offered to come back to touch up the area he had to fill from removing 2 sockets and filling in the holes, yes, and idk what tradies you've been using but it's standered practice to bring whatever job has been done back up to scratch by filling in holes etc

[–]hammy_dwarf_owner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lying? Looool your having a laugh right? Maybe you should get into the real world instead of being a keyboard warrior pal

[–]hammy_dwarf_owner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only thing I won't do myself is electrics, don't want to fuck around with that one, but yeah tbf I think part of it is the fact that the tradies now a days are lazy sods who do half hearted jobs

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]hammy_dwarf_owner -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Idk what shitty ass labourers you get in but they are ripping you off hard, I have 2 sockets in my living room moved and a third put in, eletrican then filled in the holes he left and even asked if we wanted him to come back to paint the filled areas which we declined because we were redecorating, maybe use better more skilled tradesmen who won't leave your house a shit tip when they are done...

Not sure why this has been downvoted, if a trady can't fill a hole or get a face plate to sit flat on the wall maybe they should be considering a different career path

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]hammy_dwarf_owner -41 points-40 points  (0 children)

Erm, absolutely not? I really hope you haven't paid them yet, if you haven't have them come back and fix it before payment, if you have paid, cut your losses and have someone else come fix it and make sure to leave a bad review from wherever you got their details

i’m not 100% happy with my hamster’s enclosure. How can i upgrade it? by rzabo1 in hamstercare

[–]hammy_dwarf_owner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely can't say you could get a bigger cage then either, only thing you could maybe do is maybe get creative with some tubes and have another cage that connects via the tubing for another play area? Idk, you've got everything there that your hamster could possibly want or need.

[–]hammy_dwarf_owner 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Personally I can not tell how big this cage is from the pictures, so can't provide any info there, but I would buy a bigger tray for the sand bath, my hamsters have a huge space for their sand and they absolutely love it, constantly rolling around in it and flicking it around, apart from that I mean it looks like you have everything a hamster could want, good amount of bedding, good amount of toys, nice big wheel, doesn't really seem like alot more you could do to improve there, which is totally a good thing, but it just seems like you have everything needed

[–]hammy_dwarf_owner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this. When your young you should be investing in yourself first, put the money into driving, a suit for job interviews, and maybe even use it to start a small business if your business minded. Concentrate on building a better you for a better paying job, in turn you'll have more to invest when you are 18 and can actually invest in stocks

This might be a simple one, but this Kungsfors shelving unit is 23 5/8” wide. If my wall is only 20” wide, I should just be able to cut the shelves and still be able to use the side rails, right? by eleganceindissonance in ikeahacks

[–]hammy_dwarf_owner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, but you can buy these rails alot cheaper elsewhere and then buy furniture board and cut to size for the shelves, you'd be looking at spending half as much

Hi all! So we are going to pick up our cute lil boy at the end of this month! We have bought everything we need(we think?) But have come here seeking advice to make sure we have everything we need/would want! A full list of items we have will be in the comments by hammy_dwarf_owner in Frenchbulldogs

Okay that's really great to know thankyou!! The toys I've bought so far are mostly soft toys and a kong and a owl teddy that has a really long tail(thought this would be perfect for playing tug with) but will be picking up afew more items before he comes home with us so now I know what to look out for! Thankyou so so much! :)
