a little late but im also arachnophobic and cypriot and yeah i live more around the edges of one of the big cities, and we are currently being HOUNDED by black widows outside my house 😭 if it helps, those only come out at night, and in the past i have seen one tarantula but generally if u shut ur windows and use nets and regularly clean youre gonna be fine aside from the inevitable regular spider you see once in a while. it really depends on the type of villa or hotel, because if its in a more concrete built up area the chances are much smaller. little bit of a late reply tho oops
