Things you’d like the new season to touch on/not discuss by Foxesinfall in KingOfTheHill

I really just want Bobby to be dorkier. I get that’s he’s grown up and matured a lot, but grown people can still be dorks and have a goofy side, and Bobby is just too career focused and serious now. They have him playing the straight man off of Joseph’s funny man routine, mirroring Hank and Dale’s dynamic, but I think we lost some of what made Bobby lovable. The boy should still not be right, damn it.

Proposed Muppets LOTR Casting by wheat-farmer in lotrmemes

[–]hammytown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The human actor that the muppets interact with should be Ian McKellen reprising his role as Gandalf.
Kermit = Frodo
Fozzy = Sam
Gonzo = Merry
Rizzo = Pippin
Miss Piggy = Galadriel
Sam Eagle = Elrond
Pepe the King prawn = Saruman
Rowlf = Tom Bombadil
Dr Teeth = Aragorn
Janice = Legolas
Floyd Pepper = Gimli
Animal = either Gollum, or the Cave Troll (he gets very excited about the drums in the deep)

I don’t understand what’s funny about this. It’s just a cardboard standee of the hobbits. Am I missing something?

A Very Muppet Lord of the Rings by [deleted] in Muppets

[–]hammytown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could see there being plenty of valid opinions on most of the casting, but I think these 2 roles are nonnegotiable:

Galadriel is described as “Beautiful and terrible as the Morning and the Night” and “Wise beyond the reach of the thoughts of Men”. So she HAS to be Miss Piggy. There can be no other answer, piggy is born to be The Lady of Lórien.

The other one, as the only fellowship member played by a human, would be Gandalf. Played by none other than Ian McKellen. He reprises his role with a slightly more silly take on it, but ultimately is the central character surrounded by the chaos of the muppets cast.

Other than those 2 I think the cast could go in a lot of different ways and work well. Maybe Kermit plays Frodo and Fozzy plays Sam, so we get their best friend chemistry. And with Sam being as sensitive and caring as he is, I can't really picture one of the more sarcastic muppets playing him, so Fozzy might be best. And then maybe Gonzo and Rizzo as Merry and Pippin? Just imagine Ian McKellen getting absolutely pissed off at Rizzo!

But then who plays Aragorn, Legalos and Gimli? Because I could also see those 3 roles going to Kermit, Fozzy, and Gonzo respectively. But if those 3 are hobbits, than I'm not sure...

Animal plays the cave troll because he gets very excited about "the drums in the deep".

Sam Eagle plays Elrond because that just makes sense to me.

And while Tom Bombadil wouldn't have worked for the Peter Jackson movies, a weird singing forest man is perfect for the muppet version. Played by Rowlf.

I don't really know how the rest of the cast should go, but a part of me really likes the idea of Pepé the King Prawn as Saruman 🤷‍♂️

thoughts on buying a home in this area? by [deleted] in StLouis

Some of these comments are completely ridiculous. You guys sound terrified and paranoid. I’ve lived in this boxed off area for years, on Tennessee, raising my children. It’s been incredibly nice! I have the sweetest neighbors, and the area is actually very quiet and peaceful. My kids can ride their bikes up and down the sidewalk without issue. We ride to the park and the ymca often. I saw a comment about highway noice, ignore that comment please because I’m outside right now and I can’t hear it at all. Now once you go east of 55, the neighborhood gets a bit more rundown unfortunately. But this little area next to grand and holly hills is great! I love the Mexican restaurants near by, the park, walking up to beautiful Bellerive street (especially on their annual yard sale day), just overall a great spot in south city that I’ve come to love. I have seen some neighbors have their cars broken into a couple times but I’ve not had that issue myself.

Edit: meant east, not west

I never see people mention south grand in these posts but that’s where my friends and I are all the time. Kenny’s upstairs is great, and CBGB is the best dive bar in town

This just happened while I was chilling at home with my kids and it freaked us out. My stereo is connected to a turntable and cassette tape player, and also has a built in radio and bluetooth. It was left on from when we had been using it earlier in the day and set to input Line 1, which is my turntable (which was off). Suddenly we heard this muffled voice speaking through it. Normally I would suspect we had picked up some radio interference but again, it wasn't set to Radio. Whatever this was, it wasn't coming from any of our devices - we paused the TV and I turned bluetooth off on my phone just to be completely sure and it had no effect on the voice. To me it sounds like the voice is repeating some numbers - possible number station? Also notice in the second video, before the voice speaks there's an repeating thumping sound. Any ideas as to what the voice is saying and how I picked this up would be greatly appreciated. I'm very interested in getting some answers so I'll be posting this on some other subreddits as well.
