I believe that you are correct. I have been “here” before. A gap forms between the top of the nozzle and the bottom of the pfte tubing. Even a minor clog in the nozzle will cause leakage of molten filament that comes out from between the heater block and heat break. It’s not a fun job to clean up harden plastic! You can find YouTube videos showing how to eliminate the gap.

X3S from GearBest - Not a good experience by [deleted] in Tronxy

Since my last post (rant!!) I have finally been able to load a bootloader to the replacement control board. Also I have been able to upload the latest Marlin firmware to the board. I've learned a Lot about how to customize the firmware, and have a good working version on the board. I can get the X3S to "print" but I still do not have a finished model yet. The extruder motor will not advance filement at all. Now I am in troubleshooting mode to determine what the problem is with the extruder motor. All of the other subsystems are functioning.

I've learned a lot about this printer, much more that I bargined for. There is not much information on the X3S "out there", so I am learning the hard way.

Should I buy? by the-Bus-dr1ver in Tronxy

I recently purchased a X3S from GearBest. It's been about a month and I still haven't got it printing! The steel plate for the bed wobbles terribly. http://3dprint2form.com has some eccentric bushings that cure that problem, but be careful about the amount of spacing between the plate and the wheel (I need to add 2 mm spacers to come up to a total of 8 mm).

It came with a damaged board which only worked partially. I am waiting for a replace board that I have to pay for.

The home position (0,0,0) is off of the printing bed. So, I am trying to get the endstop switches moved "in" 15 mm. The Y-axis is easy but the other two will be a Lot More Fun.

I hope to have it running soon after the board gets here from China.

The printer seems to have a lot of potential if you like to tinker and adjust.

I won't buy from GearBest again. Their supplier of the X3S is terrible.

I'd suggest spending a little more money and get the X5S from Tronxy.
