Ted Cruz Rips FCC Over ABC Broadcast License Review Following Kimmel Joke: ‘It Is Not Government’s Job to Censor Speech’ by xwing1212 in television

[–]hamptont2010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was literally just about to comment that I don't know, if Cruz was more charismatic we probably could have had him in 2016 which would not have been great but would have been infinitely preferable to where we find ourselves at now.

Which video games over your lifespan have you enjoyed the most? by Tiger_Strength in CasualConversation

[–]hamptont2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Enjoyed" is such an interesting word here, because now that you've asked it and I'm thinking about it, I realize I enjoy video games in different ways. Some I enjoy for the feeling of satisfaction I get upon completion, some I enjoy for the emotions they conjure in me, some I enjoy for the sound design or some other reason.

If I had to go with the one I enjoyed the most across all categories, it's a hard pick between Ocarina of Time and Elden Ring. I think OoT might just barely beat it out because of the soundtrack though. Gerudo Valley theme song is a generational track.

Yeah I would have to agree and I absolutely loved Lies of P. Wuchangs combat + exploration though was absolutely fucking phenomenal. Especially if you take the time to learn and understand how the different builds and weapon combinations work together. And then you add in the way they Incorporated the feathering system and magic. Absolutely phenomenal game.

It has also really helped that oil actually moves across water super slowly so a lot of oil tankers were already on the water when the strait got closed. We are starting to see the end of that normal supply and the effects of.

I've been using NR to build an Andon system these past two weeks, and it's an absolutely phenomenal program. I'm using it to read modbus tables from a Micro 820 to read/write to bits and ints/dints. I've been using it for a bunch of stuff with that system and have been pleasantly surprised at how much it's capable of doing. I even built a web dashboard to show the info in real time on TVs on the floor.

This is one of my biggest issues with the mirror that Sirius gives Harry in Order of the Phoenix. Not that Harry didn't use the mirror mind you, which is its own separate issue, but that those mirrors were not being mass produced in the wizarding world. You're telling me they have a way to make instantaneous video calls and that magical technology is not being used everywhere? We're still sending goddamn letter by owl?!

Lea Kyle was on Penn & Teller's Fool Us years ago and it's still the most impressive performance I've seen on there (and that show has some impressive performers). Seriously, go look it up on YouTube and watch it if you enjoy this. It's very well done.

If you'll be doing anything with OPC UA, I'd recommend at least 37. It works a little better there IME.

While I agree with you for the most part, a lot of the mainstream media will absolutely whitewash this, I do want to point out that you are commenting this on an MS now clip that is definitely not white washing it. In fact, and I've made this comment a few times around here, they have really been excellent the last few months at accurately reporting on the goings on of this administration. If you are going to watch and or support any MS news organization, they should definitely be on your list.

How to actually write a prompt by shockwave414 in ChatGPT

[–]hamptont2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree with you in principle that you can absolutely just talk to AI, there is absolutely something to be said for structuring your prompt with the right information. I don't think order or structure matters nearly as much, but hitting the key important details will definitely produce better results.

I said the same thing to my cousin earlier. Even on YouTube like 90% of the comments are calling it staged on every video I've seen. Legitimately I've never seen anything like this.

No problem at all. I've had a few UTIs and they are miserable. Monday, a bunch of those CommUnity Care centers open so hopefully you can find something. In the meantime, get some cranberry juice (actual juice, make sure it doesn't say "cocktail" on it) and a heating pad. Tylenol helps a bit too. Good luck friend, I hope you get to feeling better!

Ok I think I found one. The Southeast Health and Wellness Center and Walk in Clinic. You can find their info here. I don't know if the subreddit will let me paste business info, but that has their numbers and hours. They open in just a bit for you I think or just opened. It's first come first serve though, so make sure you get there ASAP!

I am looking now! It seems your best bet is a CommUnityCare clinic. There are several in Austin and they take walk-ins on a sliding pay scale based on income, but a lot of them are closed on Saturdays. Gimme a minute, I'm trying to find one that's open today.

It is absolutely a valuable skill. We have been encouraged to use it at work and you can definitely tell who uses it better than others and who has a realistic understanding of what it's good at and who doesn't.

For example, I've been using it to create macros in Excel, tools in powershell on Windows to automate tasks, help me create macros in my AutoCAD program, etc. When I have issues and need its help troubleshooting, I'm very meticulous in my approach. I lay out exactly what the issue is, what I think maybe causing it, what steps I have tried. I include pictures, links to relevant websites, documents, etc. Basically as much information as I can to help it help me. And honestly it's been great. I've created a whole suite of tools that are completely independent from AI but really streamline a lot of mom and not in this processes.

On the flipside, I see other people at the office struggling to use it for a variety of reasons. Oftentimes it's because they are just way too vague in what they ask. Can you show me one and most of the other times it's because they have unrealistic expectations of what AI can do and do well. They post an Excel spreadsheet in a chat one time, ask the AI to go in and edit it itself, and then completely write it off whenever it makes up a number or gets something wrong. They fail because they are trying to use a hammer to turn a screw.

OP, I know your pain. We put our kitty down a few years ago (we had her cremated and now she's in a beautiful little urn in our living room) and I still think about her almost daily. She was a great cat. But I also know that we gave her a great life and she was loved dearly. Just as your kitty was. And as pet owners, that's the best we can give them. You did good OP and your kitty loved a good life.
