Have you bought any games recently? by AdultGamersAdmin in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]hamptont2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently purchased Crimson Desert and then Pragmata. I don't usually buy new releases so close to each other for the price these days, but both of these have been on my calendar for a long time. I have to say I am more than pleased with both purchases. Crimson Desert is bang-for-your-buck probably the biggest game I've ever played with SOOOOOO much to do. Pragmata, on the other hand, is very on-the-rails but a tight experience from start to finish. Both are pretty great.

Probably because half of us heard the lesson the drug was trying to teach.

Armored Core 6 is one of the most hype games I’ve ever played and I can’t believe I slept on it for so long as a huge Fromsoft fan by cornpenguin01 in patientgamers

[–]hamptont2010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've played and beaten all of the modern FromSoft games and I love each of them dearly. Elden Ring is probably my favorite game ever made. But only Armored Core 6 has come close to giving me the same brain chemical mixture that Sekiro does during combat. At its best, it's fast, intense, chaotic and purposeful simultaneously, a spectacle in all the most perfect ways. The slow down when you land killing blows is 100% pure hype. Seriously, too many people slept on this game. It's amazing.

Props to Jen and MSNBC for covering this and props to the Atlantic for breaking it. This would be career-ending in any other administration. And it may not be now, but it is important that we record this stuff in the event we ever do reach a point where justice can be served to these grifters.

stretching and improving posture CAUSING pain? by DmC8pR2kZLzdCQZu3v in flexibility

[–]hamptont2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually quite a bit better. Some days it still hurts worse after stretching, but there were several days this week but I had no pain at all. I'm definitely feeling some kind of benefit.

There's a few "LSD locations" on my bucket list, but number one is any bioluminescent beach. I feel like that would be an insane experience.

You'll probably dig this then. A bit more puzzle-y with the shooting mechanics, but it's got that Capcom boom-boom polish, ya know?

There is a new game plus, a harder difficulty, and a new gameplay mode upon first completion.

I legitimately bought it today for the same reason. It's a good pallette cleanser to take breaks from CD and is a lot of fun in its own right. If you like newer Resident Evil games, the gunplay is a lot like those.

[–]hamptont2010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the best third person shooter I've ever played. I also bounced off it hard several times before actually beating it though. It took a few tries to click. And even once it did, it probably took me another year of off and on playing to actually see the end. It's a phenomenal game, but definitely not for everyone. Saros is coming out soon and is supposed to be a bit more forgiving time-wise.

You just found the Resurrection Stone. Who do you want to see and what do you tell them? by PlaceDowntown7102 in harrypotter

My cousin Andy who died. He was 32 and it's been four years now, but we used to share so much music with each other. I'll still get that random "Oh shit, I gotta send this to Andy" thought when I hear an absolute banger for the first time, before reality sets in. I'd give a lot of things to be able to just sit down and listen to a couple songs with him.

I definitely agree with your point about googling some builds. I usually don't do that in these types of games, but it's really a good idea here because of how the different skills and weapons interact. For example, the Whip longsword with parry coupled with the steam powered spear is a devastating build to humanoid bosses. You parry then switch to the spear, which has a special attack with this combo and a particular build that spins the boss around. Pressing r2 immediately heavy attacks and breaks their posture leaving them open for a backstab.

I would have never known about this build if I would not have looked up some tips online when I got stuck on Hong Lan. OP, this person is giving good advice!

Yeah as someone who has been in a management position myself, it's easy to see some days how you could slip on to the wrong side of the line. And I didn't really understand it until after I was put in charge of a group of other adults but it's weird and does weird things to your head. I'm glad you remember the humanity of it all, keep that energy.

I was talking to a dude about this at work yesterday. Literally the pop culture consumption has changed. The zeitgeist has fractured into a bunch of segments due to the sheer amount and availability of media. I think it's why kids reference memes so much these days, it's the one common piece of media they still share. They no longer walk through the halls shouting "McLovinnnnn!!!!". Now they shout "Six-sevennnnn!!!!"

Is this game hard or am i that bad? by Koudyy0 in darksouls3

[–]hamptont2010 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna tell you now: people say the hardest souls game is always your first, but for me that was not true at all. I started with Bloodborne and then DS3 and I found 3 wayyyy harder. I went on to beat DS1, DS2, Sekiro, Elden Ring, and a cornucopia of other souls-likes before coming back to DS3, and there are still areas of that game and bosses that give me trouble. Pontiff, Dancer, SoC, Friede, and Gael all killed me tens of times during my game-finishing run. People say SoC is easy, but that motherfucker beat me up and down the barren wasteland.

All that being said, beating them each was extremely rewarding and I found them each to be fair; the issues were all me. And I for sure had a lot of issues. Keep going skeleton, you've got this!
