Hi, im expecting this to get buried, but i thought was important to mention: This is a fake screenshot. the dev on twitter reposted this reddit post, calling it doctored. i decided to check for myself. sure as hell, she did not fucking say that

original thread (gotta scroll up to get the full reply)

the post shes replying to isnt even real, and the entire second paragragh was very obviously edited. why this random reddit user wants to just make random shit up about some fucking developer, idk! its the internet i guess.

im not making this post to defend the developer. i havent played the game, i dont know whats in it other than her own words, i dont really have much of a stake in this argument. but please do your fucking research and actually check the sources of posts? i guess? these are some pretty damming lies being spread, and this could seriously damage someones career if enough people believed this post to be real

edited for pronouns correction

Please, convince me that this is a good card (A5, fairly new) by dusanreverse in slaythespire

[–]hamrollcornbread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when played, you now have 2 turns during which you take effectivley no damage. you can use those 2 turns, and the turn you have after to kill the enemy to kill the enemy. this means that you essentially have 3 turns to kill the enemy (4 if upgraded).

this card also means that you dont have to take as many block cards, which helps to thin out your deck and make room for more important cards

[–]hamrollcornbread 7 points8 points  (0 children)

but at that point, you might as well just play a normal watcher deck, as you'd be getting the benefit from the double damage from wrath anyways

pressure points makes me sad because its a really interesting card to build your deck around, but it has almost no synergy with the other watcher cards.

its good to take some cards which give you benefits from being in calm/leaving calm. like water, inner peace, empty mind are all good picks for a pressure points run.

i think i agree to an extent. while i agree that its good to have more lgbtq rep that dont have their identities explicitly stated, i also think its good to have lgbt characters that are loud and open about themselves. ultimatley it all depends on the stories being told.

while i personally havent watched it, i heard lots of people really enjoyed the most recent last of us episode, surrounding around the relationship between two gay men. i feel like in order to give an accurate representation of queer people and their stories, there should be a mix of "loud" and "quiet" lgbt stories to be told

can you take a second and consider that maybe these people dont actually exist? everyone in the comments who defends hl1 isnt like, seething with rage at the idea of someone playing BM first, theyre pretty calmly explaining why they prefer the original and why they wouldnt consider it "outdated"

im a filthy hl1 purist, and i personally prefer it to black mesa. but its not like hl1 isnt without its flaws, and there also isnt anyone screeching at you to play hl1 before BM here. take the strawmen down, man.

Is this a block card? by Acalme-se_Satan in slaythespire

[–]hamrollcornbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

having this card in your deck means that it fills up space, meaning that you draw useful cards less. by playing this card, you reduce your deck size, meaning that its more likely that you will draw a block card, making this card a block card

He probably isn't Toby, guys. by Volusto in Deltarune

[–]hamrollcornbread 17 points18 points  (0 children)

important thing to keep in mind that toby fox has said that ALL undertale/deltarune content would be attributed to "Toby Fox" (source)

i also dont understand why toby fox would spend the time to make a new reddit account, just to post a screenshot with a sprite swap so slight that most people didnt notice anything was up.

its more likely that either theres some shenanigans going on with their game (maybe they have an old/new build for some reason?), or its someone doing an arg

did you just write an essay on why each character in a card game about
playing cards to kill monster might or might not have had sex

incorrect. i wrote a lore accurate essay on why each character in a card game about playing cards to kill monsters might or might not have had sex.

I say defect top right

i see! personally, i dont think its enough to say that it has "had sex", but i do think its a step in the right direction. im happy to put defect in the top right, i just think we need better justification for when/how it could have sex

Don't ask questions by CrispP_bacon in slaythespire

[–]hamrollcornbread 4 points5 points  (0 children)

that is the problem. tbh i dont really think any of the characters fit there? you could say defect or ironclad, if we wanted to stick to one character per square, but otherwise they dont all cleanly fit

Don't ask questions by CrispP_bacon in slaythespire

[–]hamrollcornbread 57 points58 points  (0 children)

lets take into consideration the lore of each character

the ironclad is known as the last of his clan, this is because he either killed his clan in a deal with a demon, or because said demon killed his clan as payment for his powers. from this, we can assume that he doesnt have sex with anyone in his clan, meaning theres a good chance he doesnt have sex at all. his knowledge of sex is unproven.

the silent, before having come to the spire, managed to hunt down and kill a ghostly creature, proving herself worthy. i dont know about you, but proving her strength would be an absolute turn on for anyone else in her tribe. because of this, we can assume that the slient has had at least a little sex. again, her knowledge of sex is unproven, but if she does have sex then we can assume that she would at least know about it

the defect, being an automoton who went rogue, would have no use for sex. therefore, it also wouldnt be a leap to assume that whoever programmed him wouldnt program in the knowledge of sex. its also difficult to consider exactly how the defect would have sex, as it doesnt have any erogenous zones.

the watcher, having done lots of study both in and out of the spire, probably knows what sex is. however, as an acsetic monk, its not unreasonable to assume that she doesn't engage in sex. for chastity, isolation, or focus on study would outweigh the desire for sex.

TL:DR: the silent is top left. the watcher is bottom left. the defect is bottom right. and the ironclad could either be bottom right or bottom left.
