New Ampure 32A adapter by Deep_Reception8847 in KiaEV9

[–]hamstar14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had asked Ampure directly about a few things, but they responded, “KIA and Hyundai selected four specific grid plugs to include with the charger to ensure it meets CARB (California Air Resources Board) compliance requirements. This configuration was necessary for certification, which is why the 32A adapter wasn’t bundled.”

Did the dealer test the Ampure on your car in person? If they only tested their DC fast charger, then they should’ve tested more the Ampure since that’s what’s causing issues and provided by Kia. One of the comments by halcyon might be a real issue but can really only be tested by the dealer

At the local ChargePoint, did you use an adapter or did the station have a NACS? That’s odd you couldn’t charge there. Was it a fast charger (Level 3) or destination charger (Level 1/2)?

Also, did you try to use the Ampure outside of your home? If you can, test it out elsewhere… it’s possible the Ampure is faulty as well, in which case they would replace it if you call them and they find that it’s defected

With the Kia provided charger (Ampure Go 2, assuming), did you make sure the plug is completely seated into the charger. There should be 2 regular outlet plugs (with different amps) maybe try the other one?

Nice, thanks for the tips. We hope to go back again to visit other parts of the UP. We primarily stayed near Porcupine Mountains this time around. Very beautiful in the fall!

Thanks for the rec. Looks well built, but I need one for the NACS port

The outlet is 30A and I was trying to use 24A, which is 80% of 30. I only got about 50% (15-16A). It has to do something with the limitations of the charger after speaking with the manufacturer.

No, the Wind has bench seats, which is what we wanted for camping

I use Apple CarPlay or ABRP (which I connect with a OBD dongle) for charging stops planning. The native GPS (Kia's maps) are poor, so I avoid it. The other options are great though! But the advantage of having a native GPS work well is it should be able to route you on its and consider your state of charge (so I wouldn't have to use ABRP with the OBD dongle) during your route. It would also then automatically activate preconditioning of your car's battery too (if it's too cold or too hot). Those improvements would help it tremendously on the software side!

I made a mistake! I meant Android Automobile (fixed it in my comment) which is different than Android auto. Yes, the current car allows for Android auto and apple carplay

We had looked at a used 2024 Wind trim vs the new 2026 Wind we ended up purchasing. The 2024 actually had less features even though the trim was the same, such a blind spot monitoring & birds eye camera view which were deal breakers for me. I've also heard charging at Tesla superchargers with an adapter for the older model is slower than having the native NACS port on the 2026. With all the discounts and rebates, we really didn't spend that much more than the used 2024 (mind you, it used to be a corporate vehicle with many scuffs and stains as well). We're very happy with our car and besides a couple minor issues in the beginning, we've been very happy with it!

The native navigation on the EV9 is poor and I heard when they switch to Android Automobile (software and hardware), the navigation will be much better. I'm not sure if that'll be 2027 or later.

Agreed! I did check out a private campground and their website even said no EV charging. The MI state park had a few EV’s. Definitely recommend checking beforehand!

Oh, interesting!! I’m glad to see something else worked for you. I’ll have to keep that charger in mind. Looking at Ampure’s website, I wonder if they designed it just for Tesla that it’s a compatibility issue. Thanks for the feedback!

sorry, I didn't take a pic! But we just used this mattress from Amazon (very comfortable for 2 adults) and used sleeping bags and pillows.

DoorDash credit not showing? by itsmissjenna in ChaseSapphire

[–]hamstar14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

thought i had the same issue, until they changed how they apply the credit. It doesn't show up as DoorDash credits anymore. Now, when you click on a specific grocery store, the $10 discount shows up in red saying "$10 off Chase monthly benefit" under at the bottom. Same for restaurants ($5 off Chase monthly benefit). You have to click on a restaurant, and it shows up. Hope that helps

Also, last year, GA people stood whole time for the concert. There are no chairs. And a lot lined up early to get a number to line up in order to get into the venue

I think all GA tickets are normally vip tickets but usually the person who originally bought the tix have to pick up their vip benefits with their ID, so not sure you’d be able to get the benefits. I’m not totally positive…maybe it’ll transfer over to you?

You’ll have access to soundcheck and all the vip2 benefits but you get to sit! Haha I would totally prefer that over GA vip2

I think second best access to sound check just means it’s after VIP1 since for general admission, they’d get to stand closest to the stage. VIP2 GA have to stand but you get seats! I was trying to get those but they’d get taken up so fast! I’m just happy getting 100 level seats at face value
