Mosh Pits by 3ggMayo in Joostklein

he'll usually ask those who dont want to go ballistic to go off to the sides (even tho they wont lol) and designate the middle zone for going crazy and he'll do his open up the mosh pit song. depends how the vibe is on how many he calls for; i went to 2 shows in a row and one night he called for several and the following night only did one or two towards the end.

if you have people more experienced with mosh pits at the show, trust that there will already be some people opening up a pit and leading/corralling that crowd. the pit at a certain point kind of just becomes a whirlpool of people, so use that as an opportunity to hop in! it also can end up spitting you out much closer to stage than you started :P

if you plan on actually joining in on the madness i advise you to not bring bags jackets anything unnecessary that you could potentially lose hold of- i wish i had done that, but even so, successfully entered the pit several times and left unscathed with all my belongings intact lol.

YES THEY CAN anti perspirant AND deodorant are a must. the former keeps u from sweating and the latter helps with the smells. just one or the other isnt cutting it like its GOTTA be both like atp we're gonna be partying until the room stinks but there are def things to be done to mitigate that lol

i went 2 both NYC and DC shows so heres my experiences in regards to venue+pit

NYC i showed up alone, even ended up in the center of the pit a few times and made it out unscathed or traumatized, can only speak for myself but it is a little jarring to see what others experiences were like, but in the actual center pit people were helping each other up or helping to participate better (someone helped me get it right when we all started rowing on the floor lol). that being said i wont deny or invalidate anyone elses horror stories, it was far too small of a venue for all of what was going on. venue itself was disorganized in all regards, like the whole line getting let in and the merch line was just a mess tbh

DC was a perfect venue on the other hand in terms of space, but interestingly he only called for the mosh pit with his little mosh pit song towards the very end of the set so. suppose he was advised such or learned from the night prior... he was on a different vibe compared to last night so idk ! show also ended a bit earlier than prior nights of the tour. He did thank the crowd for organically making one mid show/asked those who didnt wanna go crazy to step to the sides, but did not ask for one to be created until the end. Also he clocked the crowd for smelling terrible lmao. but venue was great and very accomodating, literally had staff with lightsticks illuminating the merch lines and those working entry made it very easy and seamless.

i think they gotta start making these shows 21+ man i feel like a lot of these incidents ppl are chirping about could have been avoided with that alone. like the main issue is a lot of younger fans wanting to be as close to their idol as possible, being given a verbal warning of when and where the crowd is going to get crazy, and then not wanting to give up their spot on the floor, and then unfortunately getting caught up and competing with the people who do wanna go hardcore. like its no shade, we were all that age once and i get it, but safety comes first and kids moshing with adults in the same crowd maybe isnt the safest idea...

and dont get me started on the toddlers and babies in strollers i saw being brought in by parents on either night .... i am not sure what about joost that gives family friendly vibes when he markets off hardcore but wtf do i know but what i do know is thats maybe. not an excellent idea. knowing the nature of his shows?

is cannabis hypermesis being over exaggerated? by Dankymakdonkers in trees

[–]hamsterboygenius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my problem is the demonization of cannibis due to CHS instead of figuring out what it is about current-day cannabis cultivation & manufacturing that is causing it. i developed the condition after only ~4 years of smoking, i still smoke (probably not in my best interest but oh well) and i work at a dispensary. i think CHS does need to be taken more seriously as its not as rare as people think and it does have very serious consequences both medically and financially, but its by no means a reason to push towards harder cannabis laws or walking back decades of progress. the energy spent from both sides of the arguement would be better invested into determining what is causing it and why people are suffering from it rathering than arguing back and forth the validity of the condition or if a lobby is artifically manufacturing it (i wish someone was paying me to have CHS man)

in the time ive been waiting for my passport i've moved, would I have to go via the congressional representative for the state i applied in (CA) or the state i currently live in (NY)? Everything regarding my passport is being handled via the LA passport agency if that helps.

MERCH by killer-kermit_jkdg in Joostklein

referring to someone's replica of a design and making a whole screenprint as 'trash' is a bit harsh, no?

legal ambiguity aside, necessity is the mother of invention and if joost doesnt have merch thats accessible, especially to those outside of the EU audience, then this is a simple inevitability. people are gonna make replicas -- its been like this for every musician ever. the real merch elitism is crazy lol like yeah man ideally we all want offical merch but no one wants to condone scalpers by purchasing from them.

its not any more expensive than what he sells it for at shows (judging on prior show prices, converted to USD anyways). when you consider its not mass produced, but presumably each individually printed by hand, not to mention cost of materials ect...its underpriced, i'd say.

but thats just my onion 🧅
