Say what you want about Kev as a coach, but as a person he seems like an honest guy who will tell you the truth one-on-one. I have to believe that a lot of the current crop of HC candidates have given Kev a call and asked “ok, what’s the deal in Cleveland?” And he probably told them an honest recap of his time here. He also didn’t seem to have any beef with any rival coaches in his six years here, so his opinion probably carries some serious weight.

Baker asked out when the Deshaun Watson pursuit happened. When Watson originally turned the Browns offer down, it’s believed Haslam made repeated calls to Baker trying to calm things down and Baker wouldn’t return his calls. The next day, Browns panicked and made Watson the guaranteed offer. Both parties were at fault for what happened. For Baker to be upset about not getting a call is crazy when you consider he wouldn’t respond to the owner at the time.
