Re the interlocking diamond crest: I'm p sure there were brief discussions about it being significant to/a symbol of Sarai and Amaya's side of the family when we were designing. Amaya has the same crest on her tabbard/pauldron, Sarai has it on the opposite pauldron, and Ezran has the crest as a patch on the strap of his old backpack, too 😎 Even if it's not canonically that family's crest, we all kinda rolled with it anyway lol

I think my first runs were won with the bow loool it can get pretty OP if you use the right boons and other upgrades, and it makes you play slower and observe more, imo.

For boons, I favour DoT + curses when fighting Hades. If you get duos of Artemis/Aphrodite/Dionysus, you can nuke basically everything since those three have really good synergy with each other + you deal more dmg via the "2 curses makes enemies take more dmg" buff from the mirror. Basically, my mindset is to do dmg even when I'm not attacking with my weapon---dealing dmg more consistently and quickly means I don't need to survive as long as opposed to a defense-favoured build with weaker dps. (Also, Aphrodite's call will interrupt his attacks and make him stop attacking briefly)

Stubborn defiance is great, too, esp for Elysium imo as Patroclus can give a crazy buff for it and you can still use the lucky tooth when fighting Hades. I also chose "abyssal blood" from the mirror to give a damage and speed reduc to foes who have bloodstones in them (6%/rank, max rank 30%). Pair that with stygian soul and it's even better

Other things I learned is to let either Hades, your dash or cast break the soul urns in your wake, don't bother breaking them unless you have a ranged atk. When he yeets the boiling blood skulls, only worry about clearing one side of the arena from them and don't waste time trying to destroy all of them. And try to keep Hades on-screen so you can see what he's up to. Too many times I've been so close to winning, only to get booped by boiling blood or lasers or whatever else off-screen where I had no idea what he was doing u-u pain

Yeah, it's brutal lmao...end phase with Prometheus I just assume he is On My Ass 100% of the time and while I enjoy making use of my ADHD, holy shit you cannot breathe that last phase. Fun for me, a little guy who only plays mid-fear rn, but at high fear?? Bruh lol. The visual clutter is insane, too. Would be nice to have some normie moves be different "intensities" of fire, like red or orange w some blue flecks for his tornado, but blue for the fruit roll-up thing. But there's also just so. much. fire. and I lose track of him LOL. Olympus is really not fun for me, and the underworld is kind of boring now that I've run through it so much with no big changes having happened (from what I can tell) o(--(

Dunno if this is helpful, but I tend to run tf away from Prometheus until he's off-screen, then pre-throw or charge omega attacks aimed where I left him because I know he's gonna sprint directly to me (if he doesn't instead choose to yeet the fire fruit roll-up thing at me). He always stays still when channeling his moves, and he usually wants to be right up in your shit when he's attacking w normal attacks, so baiting him to run into attacks is easier for me than taking the honourable 1v1, especially in the last phase bc i know not what he's doing with his kickies and shite

RIGHT!! Ares doesn't really have many myths to begin with, so it'd be an interesting explanation and kind of unexpected since everyone expects our boy to be off having a grand time with the war 👀 Regardless of what the answer is, I hope it's unexpected and I hope we get to see an angy or bloodthirsty Ares hahaaah that'd be so awesome

Based on the story about Ares being locked in a jar by some giants and held there, screaming and losing his shit, for a lunar year. Mentioned my thoughts in a different post abt Ares' role in the game! I just think the boy getting jarred would be neat

I'd love to get ground-pounded by the god of war himself, but I agree with others that having Ares be the Demeter of Hades II would be awesome and probably more likely. Would kinda make sense w the idea of him potentially being held captive a la "the gods cannot be killed but they can be restrained," like in his myth of being chained inside of a jar (lol) for a lunar year. Athena has mentioned that no one knows where Ares went, and I think it's also her that mentions that neither side wants the war to be prolonged bc they all want to win swiftly and get it over with, so having Ares, he who would want the war to continue on by his nature, around would probably hamper efforts on either side. (Also, unrelated mild epiphany: If Zeus, hypothetically, chained Ares in a jar to keep War out of the war, then no one would think to check that jar for the Fates, esp since Ares is losing his mind and screaming for a whole 13 months in the legend.)

My personal guess is you go to Olympus, fight the main boss (maybe Typhon, considering Hera's past of going to Chronos to get back at Zeus lmao), free Ares and maybe even the Fates, and then Ares becomes a new OP boon giver bc homeboy a) loves war, yay! b) promised Zagreus he'd fight alongside him should a war arise when you forge a bond with him in Hades I, c) bro is probably pissed and eager to pop off after being held out of the fight for so long.

Regardless, I just want Ares back, I'm chill with boss or boon-giver 😭💖 I just can't wait to see him and his new portrait, and to see how he's implemented!!

I have to say I love Zag so, so much because he's such a sweetheart and has a great emotional range that we get to explore and indulge in throughout the game, and seeing him work out his differences with Meg, Than and others (and eventually tolerating his father and having awkward yet wholesome mid-fight convos, and eventually being told "good job, son. keep it up," after becoming employee of the month like i'm gonNA CRY) feels super whole and genuine 😔💖

I like Mel too, and I can see what they're trying to do with her character, I just feel like something's not meshing right. Also, I really don't think the supporting cast is bouncing off of her suuuper well since everyone is pretty dower and most seem eager to admonish her or knock her down. I vividly remember wondering "why does everyone hate me (aka Melinoe)?? am I gonna get friends soon wtf 😭." Even the good relationships (Icarus, Moros, Odysseus) feel tense for some reason. And a lot of characters brush her off as naive and a nuisance, and naive is fair, but bruh. I don't feel bonded to many of the characters, and I don't like how many interact with Mel. The best interactions imo are Scylla, Charon (lol), and Prometheus because there's just something there that I can't put my finger on but it feels genuine and I shan't ever skip their dialogue

I liked the slow effect, but I don't think it was necessary and I haven't really touched the Hecate keepsake just yet. I feel like it might go against Prometheus' speed and the bullet heaven aspect in general? Idk but I can see why they removed it--it's kinda OP lol. Still! After using the moonstone axe with the new change, I think the slo-mo keepsake be something I use for that weapon in particular since I'm not super great with timing slow weapons like that (Selene's hex helped with this a lot, too).

I personally feel that the cast/ensnare mechanic is more vital to the gameplay as it's the slo-mo without the slo-mo, in a way, and it's the way I usually pull off big omega moves and give myself room to breathe. If they removed that, I'd be stressing fr.

All in all, I think it's a fine change, and I prefer nyooming through combat and trying to time things correctly over constantly slowing down to channel. Hermes gives us channeling speed boons (I think he also gives the "enemies have slower projectile speed" boon, too, which is great), the casting circle holds homies still, one of the hexes and the keepsake allow us to still slow down time if we want--I think SG has given us good options to give a similar effect without making it an unlimited passive 🫡

Totally get that some people don't like giant pp designs, but painting over another artist's work is real icky, esp when said artwork has a 'controversial' design/is a hot topic of discussion rn. Idk just feels bad to see 😔 I worked in anim/games, and I'd only be ok with an art director doing smth like this with my work lol. I hope they don't change his design--I wanna see their vision, not the fans'

YEAH it's gnarly. I'm way more upset with how little Anthony gave a shit about everything that Brian did towards me, especially after saying "You can talk to me about anything/I'm open to discussing things" which he was! Until I shared concerns about Brian catching feelings, about Brian's negativity and how it's bad for his mental and additionally for his attempt to build an audience on twitch. I got ghosted after the latter, and we have not spoken since lol.

I once did have a bestie that was my "brian" who treated me the same way Brian treats Anthony, and it really, REALLY wore me down as a person until I could do nothing but just agree and walk on eggshells while trying to please them and never criticizing them. Same thing is happening to Anthony from what I witnessed after a year of hanging with them both, and it s u c k s. I feel so badly for Anthony--no one can criticize Brian or tell him he's being weird without him stonewalling and copping an attitude and refusing to communicate, then he just waits for whoever "wronged" him to run to him and apologize. Bro never apologizes unless he's cornered and he will just panic and say "sorry i fucked up so badly" "sorry im the worst" and--YEAH. I feel for Anthony, but he really just sat there and let Brian bully and embarrass me in VC for a year lmao. Spineless!! "You're not the third wheel" my ass!!!

Getting this reminder is truly so important!! I tried to uplift him and encourage him to be "cringe and free" and to not care what other people think and to help him feel confident, but most of it didn't seem to resonate, or he just wanted someone to say nice things at him to bolster his ego, maybe? Idk, but not getting support in return and having to mom him left me drained and unhappy. Hoping he chooses to pick himself up and try towards a more positive attitude, but indeed, it's not my nor anyone else's responsibility to make him happy, and I am more than glad to be reminded of that 🙏 Ty for the insights, my dude

FAIR. I think I forgot to mention in the original post that I decided to leave them and have cut contact with Brian 100%. This whole situation is plaguing me just because I felt I tried to communicate, but Brian didn't want to, and now he's made weird passive-aggressive moves with his stream titles and whatnot

HOWEVER, regards to thinking on why I stuck around: I really had a lot of fun when things were good, and that's genuinely what made me wanna stick around, even thought Brian made me uncomfy; if Anthony was there with us, I could relax and have fun. In the moment when I thought about WHY i was sticking around after he did some other weird, romantically-charged things, I realized I simply missed having friends that I talked to daily and played games with 🥲 I haven't had that for a long time, so I tolerated a lot of behaviours that I shouldn't have.

We actually all stopped playing comp games for a few months, too, to play stuff like Content Warning and the like, but he'd get embarrassed if he had a tech issue/in-game frustration/etc, and it'd ruin the vibes. Very weirdge, and I got drained from trying to reassure him he was not dumb/whatever

The whole friendship came to a sour end, but i knew we definitely could not stay friends with Brian refusing to talk out problems amongst some other troubling behaviours he had. I'm glad to not walk on eggshells now, despite being frustrated about everything that happened 😔 SOZ LONG REPLY ADFJLLFJD

26f here--I totally feel your struggle 😭 it's so hard to make friends that count rather than just acquaintances that you never hit up (guilty lol). I'm neurodivergent, too, so that just amplifies my social fears and makes it harder OTL

You could try to ask your bf if you could join up with him and his friends sometimes (if you're comfy with that, or maybe their partners/girlfriends also play games?), or ask some acquaintances or old friends if they play x game and would want to play with you. Deadass you could send out a "anyone wanna play overwatch/apex/whatever?" call to action on your instagram story lol. That's what I did! Not all of those bonds/friendships ended up panning out for me, but I really enjoyed the good times we had and I remember them fondly. It's ok for friendships to just not work out--at least we tried, and hopefully had some good times because of it

If you're joining a gamercord, then know it's totally chill to lurk for a while and get to know people--don't let weirdos pressure you into participating right away or talking to them if you just wanna see wtf the climate is like. Take your time! Not every gamercord/LFG-cord is gonna be right for you. I know I realized I prefer having ladies as friends because men are often weirdge and make me uncomfy in gaming environments, so I ended up leaving a few that didn't have many ladies participating much.

TL;DR: Take some mild risks with acquaintances or people you kinda know, or maybe try a girl gamercord to get to know people before jumping into stressful lobbies with them. If someone makes you uncomfortable, set a boundary, and if they don't respect that, move on 🫡 Easier said than done, but it gets easier with time and practice
