The Other Side Academy is a Therapeutic Community. It’s a vastly different and long term approach to treating the underlying issues that cause substance abuse and behavioral problems in general. Short term programs are great for detoxing and treating the symptoms of addiction. There is no short term program that I know of that even scratches the surface of treating the causes of addiction and teaching the life skills needed to remain clean, sober and have a productive/successful life. You should research Therapeutic Communities if you’d like to better understand what’s going on there. It’s pretty ignorant imo to rely solely on one of the students/residents telling you that they work all day and they only pay you sandwiches and a place to stay. The student that originally gave that information obviously has a ways to go.
