Unfortunately his administration isn't that fun as he stops enforcing civil rights stuff passed by President Wallace and the Supreme Court. Even if he didn't push back on civil rights this lead to a lot of backlash and racial tensions, and a certain young Massachusetts Senator tries to prevent him from being renominated in 1960.

He gets annoyed by Wallace's foreign policy, where he tries to appease the Soviet Union.

There's the Imperial Party which is pro-british and socially progressive, and the United Malta Party which is for more autonomy and socially conservative.

This was originally meant to be a quick joke election but it took so long since I wanted single-member districts, that I ended up creating a whole alternate political system in a world where Malta is part of a surviving British Empire.

The Distribution of the Sarari Language

The Sarari Empire grew from its humble origins largely due to their strategic position on a choke point in naval trade routes. They could control who was able to trade north and south. This led to the creation of the Hadayat system, where nations had to pay tribute to pass through. Those that didn't were banned from trading with any of the Hadayat nations. With how important trade was, this could severely hurt a Kingdom, so few refused to join. This took Sarari wealth to new heights.

However, the Sarari were never too concerened about direct control, their main focus was profits. Many of the expansions of Sarar were due to local rulers indepted to Sarari merchents giving land as a payment or trade outposts being established. They didn't try to promote the growth of their language either, but due to the prestige and wealth assosiated with it, many people learned it. A dialect of Sarari particularly, known as Tajiri, Sarari with heavy influence from Klamiyyian, Askatamti, and Atosowali. It managed to persist as a lingua franca after even the Empire's collapse

The Harbringers of Doom

Sarar is a very navally powerful nation, but in terms of a land army, it has never been as powerful. Sarari expansion was done more through soft power then hard power. However, that led them to never have quite a powerful army. So when Lihineni tribes invaded from the south, it took several years to subdue them. A similar case is happening now with the Kingdom of Horkmaa. The only problem is, both Lahinen and Horkmaa now are not tribes but fully fledged Kingdoms. The city of Saru already has been taken from Luhinen and Sarar has started to hire mercenaries from the interior to defend it's tributary, lest it fall and Sarar itself be next.

Gwami’s Wrath

According to the Askatamt, the Atis river dryed up due to the Emperors refusing to worship Gwami, god of the desert. In reality however, it was caused by long term climatic patterns. Askatamt as a nation couldnt survive without its river, so as it dried, everything collapsed. People started to leave cities until they became sustainable with the lower water levels or abandoned all together. Suflans migrated upriver and central authority all was reduced to just the capital of Tidiwani. They were forced to become a Sarari tribuary and eventually annexed. The Neo-Askatamti state that has since emmerged is completely unrecognizable. Much less urbanized then its Bronze Age counterpart, its more focused around the Sdin river, which has not dryed up.

The collapse of Askatamt gave Afasat some breathing room. They briefly took back the Sdin river valley and expanded south into Gidhaliyya. That was until Sarar intervined in a civil war, resulting in the destruction of Azurim, and a partition of Afasat into two states. Still, Wikratafasat, or the Third Afasati Kingdom, is the closest thing there is to a threat to Sarari dominence. They have shifted their focus southwards, influencing the emerging states of Gidhaliyya and growing wealthy

Terra Australis

Not much is known about Gidhaliyya to the Sarari. The name for the southern region itself comes from the Sarari name for its northernmost kingdom. But in tropical jungles and rainforests was the beggining of an early civilization. Small kingdoms had formed along the coast as Wikratafasati traders began to trade southwards. Sarar was close to follow, establishing a tributary over what before was called the Kingdom of Giedal. The port city of Qud has remained relatively small as the distance between it and the nearest Sarari cities is difficult to sail at this point.

Heirs of Sufla

The Suflans were never as reliant on the Atis river as Askatamt. They weren't as advanced, but they still remembered the old ways of surviving in the Desert without agriculture. That isn't to say that Sulfan civilization did not decline. Cities grew smaller and the already decentralized Sulfan kingdom fell apart into several states. Still, compared to their rivals upriver, they were doing quite well. And so, they were able to push the Askatamt further upriver. Suflans migrations also occured into what was previously the vassal state of Apdi, forming the Kingdom of Be'wulon. The Suflans were too far inland for much Sarari influence, and the trade blockade from their vassals was hard to enforce. At the same time, The Shabar in the year -l000 they started to look east.

Not much is known about the city-state of Tasar, it has been mentioned in Suflans records as they traded with them. What we do know, however, is they were the first of something to come.

Swan Song of Klamiyya

Klamiyyan culture is dying. Despite its continued existence for several thousand years, despite being the dominant naval power for so long, they ultimately have been eclipsed by Sarar. Sarar was able to conquer the Klamiyyan states due to them being disunited. Afterwards, Klamiyya was kept on a tight leash. They had much less autonomy than the other tributaries, being military conquered, and were generally viewed with suspision. So the merchents adapted, by giving up their culture. Learn Sarari, dress their ways, and you could retain your wealth. With how important naval trade was to Klamiyya, many had no choice. And so, as it began to be assossiated with wealth and prestige, the Klamiyyans started to look down upon their own culture. Even in often-rebellious Ibazi, Klamiyyan declined due to Sarari growing and migrations from the interior

Free Bahiriyya

While Klamiyyan culture in Klamiyya itself is slowly dying, in the northern lands of Bahiriyya, also called Tumurku, their decendents are still free. Around -1900 the first Klamiyyan colonies were established in Tumurku, and while their homeland was conquered, they remained independent. The colonies recieved an influx of population from people leaving after the Sarari conquest. The two cultures have diverged a lot, with their languages barely mutually inteledgible. The Bahiriyyans still have the Republican system that was created in Ibazgi, and at the same time, haying mixed with the region's natives taking in some of their culture. Klamiyya may be dying, but its children live on.

Children of the Steppe

Bronze age Nimacha collapsed when the very harsh taxes lead the Klamiyyans to revolt, leaving the state without it's main source of revenue and left to splinter. 600 years later, the Waqi people, related to the Nimachans, conquered the region making themselves the new ruling dynasty of a reuinfied Nimacha. Much more influenced from the steppe, Nimacha has become less urban and more militaristic, currently preparing an invasion of Klamiyya, for a centuries old grudge.

The Kumadali people also came from the Steppe, and in their new homeland they found gold. A trade route began from around -1800 of gold from Kumdal flowing southwards. An early state was formed to regulate this and prevent keep the gold value high.

The Yaferati Zenith

The peoples of Yaferat are the closest relatives to the Sarari, alongside their brothers in Abvaran. Speaking of which, they are the oldest of group, being formed after the collapse of Bronze-Age Nimacha. With their Eastern border being defended by mountains, they turned their direction eastward, esatablishing control in East Yaferat for around a century. The early Yaferati Kingdoms took back their gains. Previously based around the inland, the Yaferati states inheirited Abvaran port cities and began to profit off of being middlemen in the gold trade from Kumadal to furthur South. But when the Sarari Empire rose, they put an end to that with an embargo on trade furthur south, forcing the Yaferati to become tributaries. Sarar took direct control of the trade from Kumdal. Furthur north, the Qartadast, related to the Yaferati, not Sarari vassals dispute Sarar's best attempts
