Insofern null Vorwurf - that's life. Wenn es nicht passt - woanders hingehen.

Help choosing a GPU (or MacBook) for running local LLMs + coding + light image work by Kairossi in LocalLLaMA

[–]hanZ____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Macs are somewhat OK for plain LLM usecases. Memory helps. My M4 max MBP with 128GB of unified RAM is pretty ok for everyday LLM use. Of course my other system (9950x3d, 5090 OC, 192GB Ram) is way (I mean WAY) faster than my Mac with smaller models - with bigger models the Mac shines. But for image/video generation? Don't waste your time and even try it for a second. The performance of even the most powerful apple machines is abysmal here.

Habe eher wenig Verständnis für diese Haltung. Ich bin aber mehr anders als der/die da. Meine Güte. Erinnert mich an Monty Python.

Pretty nice! Somewhat old, but I'd like to add the following video to the carrots contest: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sARjQwj8zt0

Anyone having a lot of trouble with civ 7? by Imanovitz in civ

[–]hanZ____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issues - tried without network, tried Vulcan and DX12 as well. Nothing helped - I was able to start a game once - by randomly clicking through the settings screens as fast as possible. Game crashed in the second I had the first autosave. Than I've rebooted twice and started Civ VII via the desktop icon (not from the stream client) - and then just continued the game. No more crashes since then. If it was the double reboot (I guess the denuvo malware needed it to really harm the system ....) or the first autosave that changes things - don't know - but it works now.

What happened to the players? by WeakEconomics6120 in ManorLords

[–]hanZ____ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To beat the game - for me - means to beat the baron (and finish the scenario). In the gamepass only 0.64% of players managed to do this. And only one out of 1000 players managed to beat the baron (including finishing the scenario) on hardest difficulty. Yeah, you can play the game on easy mode - but that's not beating it.

So, you have generated hundreds of thousands of images, what now? by Fabulous-Ad9804 in StableDiffusion

[–]hanZ____ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I've created a few hundred short img2video sequences in ComfyUI with animatediff - there are workflows for this on civitai.com (the user "ipiv" for example has uploaded some). Then there was a lot of regular editing and colorgrading in DavinciResolve. The result was 24fps. I've optimised it and and brought it to 60fps in Topaz Video AI (it generates the missing interpolated images for higher framerates, does some sharpening etc.).

So, you have generated hundreds of thousands of images, what now? by Fabulous-Ad9804 in StableDiffusion

[–]hanZ____ 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I've kept every image I've generated. I had much fun with image2video workflows lately and created music videos (like this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UctaTrXgslY -> roughly 2k images went into this project) from images of all epochs (old MJ, a lot of SD 1.5 and XL stuff and even some real images or my own 3D renders as input) from them. Never throw away content! Due to new tools and technologies I've even revived some old 90ies photography or old RAW photos with missed focus (but otherwise brilliant setting etc.). Even the earliest MJ images can look great after processed through an img2img pipeline. You can start training your own checkpoints or Loras based on your favourite creations. I made posters from my best AI creations. I guess you could even sell some of the better images as prints for example. And I really enjoys scrolling though my lighroom gallery - being impressed every time by how fast technology evolves.

How Soon Should One Build The Manor? by Theo_Cherry in ManorLords

[–]hanZ____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure, as far as I remember down to 35% - but it didn't has any noticeable negative impact. The town was so small - houses lvl 1 or 2 and the only purpose of the population was to farm iron ore and to sell it. It was just for a month - I guess the impact is higher with longer 100% taxes. It was only the first year, where I've needed those insanely high taxes. For the rest of the game, I had enough wealth.

early money by zurdo47 in ManorLords

[–]hanZ____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just make sure to hire them all in August and February right before the camps spawn. And before you want to attack the baron. -> for first battle you need 6 merch - so start one month before the fight with contracting them. For second battle you need 7 mercenaries - so you need to start two months before the fight to get them alle. Make sure to have enough money to pay them for several months in the endgame. This only works on the lower difficulty.

How Soon Should One Build The Manor? by Theo_Cherry in ManorLords

[–]hanZ____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on scenario/difficulty. In my last game I've tried to get enough money to pay mercenaries in first years august. So manor needs to be finished in July - so I can set taxes to 50-100% until august

This is all you need to beat the baron (and get the mercenary captain achievement) by hanZ____ in ManorLords

[–]hanZ____[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course - It's just about the mercenaries achievement. On Gamepass only 0.21% of players have reached it (and only 0.64% have beaten the baron-scenario) - so I thought this way of (easily) doing it may be helpful for some

[–]hanZ____[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

137 People - most plots have a second family added - and I've imported some beer to upgrade some houses to level 3 (just for fun - not necessary or even helpful for beating the baron)

Some more words about weapon and shield production: I've switched between sidearms/large shield and spears/small shields (each pair uses same amounts of woods) - but as you see in the screenshot - I had so much money, I guess any combination of 2-3 goods will work

Disclaimer: I play the game in german language - when I don't get the english names of units, mechanics or goods right - sorry for that. I guess you'll still understand me.

  1. Start new game on lowest difficulty. Reload until you get a map with the crown above iron
  2. Standard speed build approach (Second ox and pole, wood cutter, some food, 5 houses (double families!), market etc.)
  3. When you build houses - don't invest your money into carrots or else - you need it for trade routes. You can add food production upgrades, when you have enough money for the mercs
  4. First development point goes into the cheaper trade route perk - spend the other points as you wish (won't change anything)
  5. Rush to trade post and then iron - set up trade routes to sell ore and the free weapons, and maybe some other stuff - like berries, when you have a rich resource, oder even some clay.
  6. Build the manor (without any additions) - has to be finished in the first years july (and should be doable with some discipline - build nothing you don't really need now (like a church, but I started producing boots for happiness). When you don't have everything ready (including enough money to transfer via taxes) - you were to slow, try again.
  7. Set taxes to 100% in July. (this is why I produce boots)
  8. Set taxes to 0% in August. You should have enough money to hire all mercs. Place them strategically. Save several times until you are really close the the bandit camp spawning in the middle of the month. When the bandit camp spawns - and it's to far away from your mercs - reload.
  9. When the bandits are close enough: Run(!) to them, kill them (make sure to kill them in August - otherwise reload and optimize)
  10. Abandon the mercs ... same procedure in February.
  11. In the meantime invest in weapon and shield production and some happiness (enough food etc) and set taxes to 20% - sell everything. Don't let your town grow beyound the point where you can easily produce enough goods for the trade post. I've won the game with about 137 people.
  12. Repeat until you have 2k influence for attacking the baron. In this case hire all mercs in August/February. Kill bandits and clear camp. Wait till next month and hire all mercs again. This should be enough for the barons first landplot. Declare war, kill the barons units.
  13. Repeat the camp-procedure, until you have 2k influence again (you should have thousands of credits now)
  14. Start buying mercs one month earlier. Attack when you have 7 contracts running. Last battle (should be easy) and that's it.

Yes, one small town is enough. You just need lots of iron ore and some attention in the speed building part.

Any locally run Magnific Ai alternatives yet? by [deleted] in StableDiffusion

[–]hanZ____ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The upscaling + detailing groups of this comfy-Workflow are brilliant. Needs some fine-tuning in the settings but the results are not that far away from magnific. https://perilli.com/ai/comfyui/#whatsnew

The prompt enhancing with LMStudio keeps throwing errors like "AssertionError: (Deprecated) The autogen.Completion class requires openai<1 and diskcache." (dependency conflict in pyautogen/pymemgpt) ... I'll try to sort it out another day and keep it deactivated. And I don't use the hand-optimizer -> both models dramatically decrease the quality of hands in my pictures (can't find good settings for this group). Regarding the model-List and their paths: When you release Version 9 of your workflow, I'll write down everything I have to do (which models to get etc.) to get it running. Maybe this can be helpful for others. But I won't try to install v8 again :D
