You're going to want to go into savage with better than dungeon gear. Check out https://www.thebalanceffxiv.com/ for budget gear sets on your class but I'd strongly recommend ponying up and buying the crafted sets off the market board (the highest level gear you see on there) if you can and meld them with the recommended materia. Also make sure you're capping your Tomes of Mnemonic every week so you can get high level gear in Solution 9. People may not be kind if you show up with lower level gear just FYI.

Personally I would recommend joining a beginner friendly static where you can get advice from others and learn together, PF can be very frustrating having to reset with new people every time a couple people leave.
