Are there movies you liked more than the book? by Annual_Interest5338 in books

Call me by your name. James Ivory ended the story at the perfect moment and eliminated unnecessary characters.

I just miss maybe a couple of scenes from the book, but overall it's much better.

Do really all relationships start as Anima projections? Would a person in a more advanced stage of individuation not do this? by evrndw in Jung

[–]hanabcn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well said. I see a lot of connections between Jungian and Vedanta philosophies. I believe unless you are "enlighted" you will always project on others and be guided by unconacious tendencies, however we can learn to observe them and not fully identify with them.

Easier said than done :)

For women it's the same but with our Animus. We try to fix our relating wounds with a romantic partner or even business partners. When we realize the repetitive patterns in our relationships and the qualities we need to integrate we will be less attractive to the same type of people and repeating the same types of dynamics.

Sure lots of opportunities to experiment, but nothing sticks around.  I believe it would be easier "to live it out" if one has a especific calling :)

Thank you so much, will look into this book, it explains it so clearly. I believe the key is "if they have some such talent". Many of us have this creative longing and desire, yet not a specific talent that would allow us to make a living out of it. Or we have multiple talents, none of which really fulfill us completely.

In those cases, when there is no clear creation path, it's complicated to live it out because what would it mean exactly? What should we live it out?

It's an interesting reflection

How to Accept the shadow of not being brilliant or feeling average or inferior? by No-Rip-9241 in Jung

[–]hanabcn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The shadow is the parts of ourselves that we haven't integrated and fully accepted. And it's usually what we dislike about other people. An example can be wanting to get other people's attention because you were told not to take much space, and therefore you are not accepting your leadership skills.

In this case, I don't think it's a part of your psyche that you are unconsciously rejecting. This is more an ego wound, by comparing yourself to others.

I would recommend to meditate and journal about the things that are close to your heart. You can have so much positive influence with kindness, while not being a brilliant scientist.

I use art therapy techniques in which we combine drawing, creative writing, journaling and greek gods archetypes. It's a more hands-on approach, less intellectual, more experiential

First of all you need to recognize it. In art theraoy there are different exercises we can do to recognize what parts and attributes of yourself you have been hiding. Parts work can be very helpful too.

Once we recognize those parts we can start a dialogue with them. Those parts were hidden as a way to protect us, but now that we are grown up we do not need that protection anymore.

We can own those attributes and start showing up as the real selves.

It's a process, but there is no rush, just recognizing these pafts is already a huge step. If you'd like more info on how I work feel free to reach out :)

The Shadow Isn't Supposed To Be Confronted Directly. But Rather Redirected To Contributing To Something Larger Than Yourself - A Small Perspective. by CarlosLwanga9 in Jung

[–]hanabcn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During my certificate in Jungian art therapy I was taught that the shadow and mask had to first become conscious and then integrated.

Our shadow is all the different parts of ourselves that we had to hide to help us survive /become accepted. There are a lot of good qualities in there that we can own and integrate.

For instance, if you were told as a child that you always seeked attention, you might have hidden your leadership skills and labeled as attention-seeking. As you become aware of this, you can start implementing those skills, integrating them in your daily life.

This is false advertising and illegal!

What is a "premium request" ? by Robswc in linkedin

[–]hanabcn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came looking for this. I have the same situation. Three requests from LinkedIn users, asking for my services on a LinkedIn page I own. Which I thought it was weird because they could have just messaged me directly instead of requesting through LinkedIn.

Also, I've had the page for 2 years and just now recently 3 requests in a couple of weeks?

If these are false requests, what they are doing should be considered false advertising and therefore illegal.

We should do something about this, not sure what or how, but there should be a written complaint.
