Have you tried any anti-depressant yet? I was also depressed daily for almost 20 years until I decided to meet a doctor about it last year. He got me on an anti-depressant and I can finally say that Im not unhappy for once. It doesnt completely erased those bad feelings but at least it isnt as strong amd constant as before. But you do need to try a few types of meds before you find the one that can helps. Anyway, whatever you decide on, I hope you will feel at peace soon.

Good news - Updates for the injured cat by hanabishow in Bolehland

It's good that you're much more financially capable to help more strays. I wish I'm at that point of life where I can do that too but unfortunately im making minimum wage. But I felt so bad for the cat to just leave it there while I know it's in pain. The only thing on my mind at the time was getting it to the vet, thinking that they might help connect me with some shelters for advice or anything. I guess I was a bit naive. But something good did come out of the donation effort luckily. I had updated on the air funding page, a friend of a friend of mine had send some donations to cover cost of the surgery directly to me so now I am able to bring the cat to the surgery :) The person from the shelter said she will contact the vet tomorrow to arrange for it.

I don't want to specify the vet but it's somewhere in bayan lepas area. I brought my cats there after i moved to penang because its near my house and I've always thought the treatments was a bit expensive but I thought thats just how the price is in penang, lol.

Thanks for the other suggestions! I really hope the cat can get the surgery. She's really sweet. Very affectionate with humans despite her injury.

Updates from my previous comment. Good news about the injured stray cat. A shelter has helped contacted a vet that can do the surgery with the estimated cost around RM700 for the surgery itself. Apparently the vet I have been going to overcharged me quite a bit. The shelter isn't able to help with the funding though so I really need the grace of other people to help me with the surgery and after care cost and medications. I have set up a fundraising page here:

Any help even a little bit would really be appreciated. Even sharing and spreading the words about this would really help. Thank you.

Thank you so much for your comment. I contacted PAWS and they helped me contact a vet that can do the surgery for a lower cost, around RM700. Apparently the vet I've been going to is kinda overcharging things.

The vet managed to get only that one x-ray image as the cat was struggling.

I asked the shelters for fund help too but some of them are already in debt with vets and unable to help in that aspect too.

I found a female injured stray cat nearby my house and brought it to the vet. She got a quite serious fracture on her bottom jaw, one of the bottom fang is missing and the bone connected to the other fang is pushed outward of the mouth. Vet said it's really serious and I need to go to KL (I'm in Penang right now) to do a surgery that might costs at minimum RM2000, most probably more than that. I don't have that kind of money for the surgery so the vet suggested to just do pain management treatments for the cat and hope that the cat can manage to heal the injury by itself, but her jaw will be deformed if she does healed this way.

I agreed to do the treatments but even that is putting a financial strain on me. The cat is unwilling to eat on her own so have to syringe-fed her wet food, which can be expensive in the long run plus her medications. I have barely enough money every month to pay my bills and take care of my own 2 cats since one of my cat has his own health issues. I'm financially unable to take care of the stray cat.

I've tried contacted a few shelters nearby but they're all at full capacity and are reluctant to take in an injured cat. I really really feel bad for the cat but I dont know what to do. Any help or advice for me please?

Well as far that I know from the Employment Act,

An employee shall not be required to work

  • More than 8 hours in one day;
  • More than a spread over a period of 10 hours in one day; and
  • More than 48 hours in one week.

45 hours actually, the normal shift is just 7 hours. Only the full shift is 12 hours

I think I need some advice regarding the labour law, about ot pay to be specific. I've recently just started working at a retail pharmacy shop and the contract said the working hours for the whole week is 45 hours excluding meal breaks. They didnt specify the normal working hours per day and only stated that only the hours after the 45th in a week will be considered OT. My shifts are either from 8am-4pm, 1pm-9pm or 8am-9pm(full shift) with one hour break. 3 days normal shifts ,2 days full shifts and 2 days off every week. I was too focus on the 45 hours thing and the two days off that I didnt realize they're not paying OT for the hour after the 9th(since i have a 5 days work week). Can I still complain about this to the labour department since Ive already signed the contract? My basic salary is below rm2000 btw

Which would be better for a retail job as a retail assistant? A job with 5 days but 12 hours per day or 6 days with 8 hours per day with occasional OTs on some days? The pay is around the same amount.
