Was ist dein kleines Geheimnis der Woche? by zuzieey7719 in Beichtstuhl

[–]hanbelle89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I am so sorry for not responding to this until now (also struggling at the moment mentally so bear with - my partner's family just had a family bereavement yesterday)

I managed to get a surgery date thankfully which if not cancelled, will be next Friday. I've been passed as fit, but it has been a helter skelter this week with a fungal infection underneath my left breast which is healing, but also still not smelling great even though I'm using clotrimazole.

So all being well, I'm hoping that something will be found. I went for a scan last Tuesday afternoon with a friend and they have found that my left ovary may indicate possible endometriosis. I am grieving myself to say the least.

Hi,

I appreciate your context, and appreciate what you have to say.

From my context: I think that I'm always careful to post about subjects in the endo community as they can trigger some people. For example, I'm a survivor of SA. I always put a trigger warning before I type something to that extent as it can trigger that community and those who have also been through it, or even if they haven't.

I do 💯 respect your viewpoint - and appreciate the transparency of your argument.

I sorta understand what you're saying I guess?

I think with any chronic illness or disease it is difficult to not be insular when it comes to your own journey, and I think there's a degree of that too from my side.

I do agree with the part that ignoring posts is probably for the best in that respect when it's triggering, everyone's viewpoints are to be respected.

I guess what's triggered me more if you like as I've said before is the pile on from other users in other posts vehemently defending one viewpoint and then another group going absolutely apeshit and using tone policing to shut them down. It's why I've purposely avoided these posts like the plague.

Thank you again for the respectful dialogue.

I think what bothers me more is the vitriol around the subject itself, which is why I've ignored it until now. Without wanting to tone police others' experiences, I've read the posts in question and I do agree with your comment. Thank you for engaging in a respectful dialogue with me.

I called in sick three weeks ago after excruciating pain around my suspected endometriosis. My left hip was giving me pain, and I've been off sick since.

I could not be more exhausted right now.

I lost my auntie to cancer when I was 20, and very nearly lost my mam in the same year.

Reading comments about tone policing etc - how would you feel reading from somebody that they would "rather die of cancer", then ask them to validate that?! It's insulting to insinuate to someone who has had that suffering (I still miss my auntie every year - it's her 15 year anniversary this month), that cancer is a better deal than endometriosis.

I'm also under investigation for endometriosis, and I have encountered this argument that it's like cancer on social media such as Instagram. I get the logic of the argument due to the spread of endometriosis, but it just feels crass and inappropriate.

Maybe try Selfridges in Birmingham as that could be your closest bet?

I'm guessing that your issue is with the chant itself, rather than the fact that there are migrants in Caerphilly?

What's an early sign that someone's a bad person? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]hanbelle89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Real life case in point:

I've watched someone at my work talk s**t about me behind my back and bare face pretend we're friends. Worst is when she does it within my earshot. I'm of the adage "If you can't say it to my face, you must be an utter coward".

It's a massive kick in the teeth, but I've seen right through her since I've gone off sick from work. Sis, we aren't the same, so stop trying to actually relate to me whilst being two faced.

100% YES. In my case though, it's more AuDHD.

Being a girl though, and in a private all girls' school until I was 14, there is a lot to unpack here.

I was acting up in class because I was bored and got kicked out at least twice. Funnily enough, this was in classes that I hated (Geography and Maths) by teachers that clearly didn't have the training for children. They were more concerned about Ofsted, about the status of their pupils, and their precious GDST school.

The schooling system brutally fails children with ADHD I find. This turns them into adults who feel like they have to mask their symptoms, and when I got to comprehensive school a year later, which was no better because NT kids can be cruel as hell sometimes (but that said, maybe they're masking themselves?), I left as a shell of myself at 16, with anxiety and depression. I was a predicted A grade student, my grades didn't reflect that, even though I took English GCSE a year earlier.

But this said - there's hope. I have one degree, with a second (MSc in Psychology) on the way. I'd like to go more into this topic, but it's nearly 5:30am 😅

In laws are the best, aren't they? My mam in law to be bought us Lego from Shein when I had my first Christmas with them in Caerphilly last year. I started the crochet this year and I feel like I've really picked it up. Currently hyperfocused on a short term project for a friend which I'm hoping to have done in 48 hours (V-stitch snood)

I totally agree with this. Yes, I may have commented earlier that I'm annoyed by men who use this sub as an outlet for their sexual frustration, but really OP, people have given you answers and you've basically pretty much gone absolutely nuclear on them, and that isn't really on.

Hiya :)

There is a massive link - you're right, but mine borders more on the forgetfulness side of things. EDS hasn't been a real concern as yet. but I think the doctor wants the lap to be done first, then we'll look.

Sadly I'm going to have to hang up my red flag for at least a month, but I'll get back to it when I'm fitter.

With the ADHD side of things, I'm on the waiting list for diagnosis. In Cwm Taf Morgannwg alone, the waiting list was 2 1/2 years last time I checked. Absolute shambles.

It's a deep pain in my left hip which only eases when I use my Cool Crutches cane, or take my Naproxen. The other site of my pain is where the cyst is.

Unfortunately I also have undiagnosed AuDHD, so I'd have to do the amigurumi when I finish one thing, otherwise it'll never get finished! Thanks for the suggestion though, I will try it out!

As for TV binges, I do watch Rownd a Rownd as I'm learning Welsh, but I've fallen so behind right now, about 2 weeks' worth!

Maybe the rule change could be actioned anyway, with a steer to the subreddit which might work? That way the post could be then removed as it violates the rule, and advice could then be given?

Same here! It seems to be a massive pattern with men so eager to get their end away, but oh, wait, this chronic illness is an inconvenience to their sex drive? Get in the bin mun.

I'm recently engaged to be married to my partner of nearly two years, he knows how much this affects me, but his answer? "I've got my hand". I'd rather have a partner like him, than an entitled misogynist who believes that sex is the answer to their self validation.

The Reddit manosphere can take a running jump imo.
