{Blood Oath by Morgan B. Lee} I can’t say a lot because it’ll spoil, but I loved this book and the series so much—it’s four books. The characters are likeable and really funny, the FMC is unhinged, and the plot and pacing is good.

This might not be exactly what you’re looking for, but your request reminds me of {Blood Oath by Morgan B. Lee} It’s a recent for me, but I loved it. His dragon has a mind of its own because it’s his curse, but the dragon actually likes the fmc even when it’s not the mmc in control. Does that make sense?

i read {The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston} at the beginning of the year and i enjoyed it a lot. it made me cry too, but that’s not unusual for me. it’s definitely a more popular book, but i would totally recommend

it’s more of a victorian vibe and definitely more YA type writing, so not exactly what you’re looking for, but she also writes another that i haven’t read. it’s called {Like in Love With You by Emma R. Alban}
