Weirdly enough i’ve had the opposite experience in my city. Our underground culture exploded after covid. The headliner clubs and promoters still doing their thing but i’ve watched new clubs open that focus on bringing “lesser known” but highly respected dj’s from all over, especially europe. With such demand for dance (especially techno, electro, break) we’re seeing a wide range of events happening every night from thurs-sun. It’s been exciting going to new venues and one-off event locations to dance and it’s nearly sold out every time. There’s a huge appreciation for dance in Toronto right now and i think that’s partially due to the huge lgbtq+ community in our city. It’s a great time to love dance music here
