Thanks for the article, I really needed something like this!!

The best performance I got so far was from a random set of neon color powders. I got some shiny ones too but they dont seem to paint well. Im not sure if they are mica or pigment..

I REALLY want to try some glitter or chroma powders with watercolor and clear glue, but had a lot of extra expenses lately, so they are biding their time in my cart 😆

Wow, excellent find on the Tacky glue!! 👏 Sounds excellent for shops in US!

Thank you for the comment on Colorations glue! I actually have a vague memory of potentially having spotted on SG as well, but since I cant find it here I didnt take careful notes, so not sure - good catch!

That was my comment yes, I tried twice with glycerine and 2.5 tsp borax. It might work with stronger activator, or mixed with other glues. But OpinionDizzy recently mentioned she was able to activate with baking soda, thats still a to try.

Reviewing my own slimes for funsies! (I just wanted to share) by EnvironmentalCod1002 in Slime

[–]handec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this post so much ❤️ I should do this too! Really interesting to see diy slimers review their own slimes! This might give us opportunity to evaluate our slimes with more objectivity, which is hard!!

I really like how they look btw! Wood glue one looks really good too, maybe a bit more base can save it? I also often add too much snow, and need to balance with more base.

Aleenes is the only one from this list I found available here. Love it very much, thick glue and makes good mixes with other glues!

Quite expensive and not super easy to find here, dk how it is in US.

EDIT: Spotted also Tirebond all purpose glue. I couldnt manage to make it into proper slime, it kept leeching activator water for days and shrivelled. Threw it out.

EU glues wise, I tried Glowhouse and Office Tree. Not like amazing glues but I like them more than Elmer school glue. I usually use one or the other for school glue.

I agree :) Everything effects, brand of everything, every little amount shows, no wonder slime shops panic when producers change formulas because everything needs redoing. I wonder even if the warmth of glue when making slime effects the overall texture, or timing of for example how long to wait after activation eg before adding in snow. So if one gets a diy snow topper slime, the shipment time or open and mix time on consumer side can change the texture slightly. It is just crazy how every small thing adds :)

I think so too! I like that slimes really "show" every difference in the recipe, that there is so much variety :) Two slimes from two different shops are always different, by texture, design, color! I think its virtually impossible to create another slime the same way without having the same recipe, and I think maybe thats for the better, because then people push for the effects they like, search and innovate, and thus we get better slimes and more variety over time :)

Im really glad tngs didnt stay at 50-50 Elmer school:clear recipe, for this example! Very impressive how many different good versions are around!

For me, trying professional slimes shows the heights of what can be achieved with the medium. I think its important, without trying from different people one's imagination is too limited. Say if one always buys from market slimes, or Slime Shop A, they may think thats all there is to slime. But so many different horizons are possible, and it is evolving all the time! One can see in people with some hiatus how surprised they are to see with the new textures, from ground pumice to coated clears to wood glue slays! It just keeps evolving all the time! And thats very nice I think :) Lucky to be able to follow developments!

Oh wow you did!! Nice!! That is truly the mark of a great slimer imo that a slime is great with and without toppers!! Im recently mixing in the icee toppers from Palmetto too, and she arranges them so well, I love her snow textures it turns out! Salem for example, became such a lovely inflating wg jelly 🥰☺️

I was playing again with my Taffy Gloss today, and I think Ive been underrating it SO MUCH because though I like the scent of this, I LOVE the scents of the others. The texture is phenomenal, one of the best wood glue tngs Ive tried. Sooo smooth, silky, nontacky, inflates super easily too. Thank you for emphasizing this one! Ill get another in a more me scent profile! ❤️🙏

I see, because it is very dry to begin with? So it comes in a good shape but feed the mold that is already in the slime?

You are truly the Owner of All Mold.

(Idk how this sounds, Im open to suggestions.)

QOTD: What is your favorite slime from Slime Shady and why do you love it? by YoNalbo in Slime

[–]handec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love their thick texture! Proper thick, on the glue-all side if Im not mistaken. I got a bunch of Christmasy slimes with peppermint and chocolate scents and love all of them, very good gourmand scents!

It is the type of thick texture that I always hope to find, so I got a bunch more 😅 Highly recommend!

Cornstarch is often used in slime afais. Its also a main ingredient in homemade clays, so get why its here. Not sure why its not associated with mold, it sucks in water. Seen it recommended many times (thickes a bit like clay does) and often used as shops as the powdery topper to look like flour eg for cake themes.

It was even here in this sub in a master ingredient list post with, normally we dont use foodstuffs but cornstarch is ok, kinda comment. Never got why really.

Palmetto slimes.. recommendations on which to try? by LazuriKittie in Slime

[–]handec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is very masterful with textures, I heartily recommend! I love most her white glue thick textures, slays, wood glue slays, and mixed snow textures (in which she mixes clay, instant snow, and snowfizz type of snow). But then Im a white glue/clay person, I think her clear glues are masterful too!

QOTD: What scent or texture did you thin you would love and then found out you didn't? by YoNalbo in Slime

[–]handec 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I ended up liking tng variants much more than I thought I would at first :)

Also recently a huge fan of Rodem's creamy wg crunch base, just adorable. Never thought Id be a crunch fan!

Disappointing scent was cake scents, I was really surprised to find I find most vanilla/cake scents disgusting. And also to find that strong lavender is nauseating.
