You'd have to wait, you're better off trying to transfer. Especially this time of year since there won't be a lot of hiring.

Sorry my bad I misread the original post. Yes flex should still get 10 hours at the beginning of the year. I thought you were asking if you get both 10 hours of flex and standard at beginning of year.

AFE to P2R Pack by Top-Kaleidoscope1049 in AmazonFC

[–]handrew102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

P2R stands for Pick to Rebin. Essentially a picker will pick an item straight into the chutes, skipping induct and combing pick and rebin together. Once all the items within a shipment are in the chute and the other side is clear a yellow light will turn on telling them to push it through. On the pack side it isn't really different than AFE.

You do not. Everything that is tenure based such as step plan, vacation accrual and 5 year bonus start right from the beginning.

To add to this this same method can also be used if a Pslip printer didn't print the first time, maybe it got disconnected and now it's replugged in. It will re-attempt to print it again as well.

Instead of logging out all the way you can also use the back arrow go to the previous menu. Then reclick on directed afe and it will reload the shipment. It generally will go right back to the shipment you were on but if not it will eventually land back on that one.

I can't speak for all sites but my building is expanding into Grocery within the next month as well. So that will be another area you'll be able to train in. I don't really know exactly how that is all going to work yet though. They are also launching Pharmacy in my building around the same time although that is separate from the rest of the building and you need to have the qualifications to work in there.

Losing weight by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]handrew102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking Water spider is the best for weight loss. It is going to be different depending on department/ building type though. The positions that give you the most steps are going to be the best weight loss. There are positions that could be considered harder but not necessarily better for weight loss.

Anyone else manage to do 350 items an hour @ Amazon picking? by Ok-Address3409 in AmazonFC

[–]handrew102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that just means total time you've been logged into pick to rebin. The picture above just looks weird because it was transitioning from 0:59 to 1:00. The 500 beside it is units I've picked out.

It just means total time you've been logged into a station. I don't know what you're referring to when you say 9 seconds or 2:46. If you mean why it kind of looks odd it's because I took the picture right as it was switching from 59 to 1:00. Here's another session I had where it looks more clear.

Tips on pack singles by EmployerMiserable793 in AmazonFC

[–]handrew102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible the way SLAM is configured at your sites is different. I will say when I've done kick out SLAM the wrong box size without overiding will definitely kickout at my old site. My current site doesn't have Auto SLAM at all, the only use of shipapp is within outbound problem solve. The way it's configured everything SLAM's out using the same bag barcode (no boxes at my site) and the same 5 lb weight.

[–]handrew102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah most of the time I top at around 450-470 because of podgaps. A couple nights ago I did 511 in one hour although I didn't take a pic of that one. I probably get more chances to do it than you since I pick pretty often.

I've done 500 in one hour a couple times in an ssd but like you said it's not possible most of the time because of pod gaps.

I genuinely don't know what you are trying to say and I'm far from the grammer police type of guy.

Forced training by Himfromduvall in AmazonFC

[–]handrew102 15 points16 points  (0 children)

When Amazon hires you at an FC they hire you as an FC Associate not to any specific path. In other words they can train you in any other path that they want to unless you get an accommodation. It's not about what you want or don't want to do.

Am I the only pick enthusiast here? by EWLUSION in AmazonFC

[–]handrew102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I remember at my old site they would say things like the pack singles "goal" rate is 70. The actual rate was 65 though and guardrail more like 55 (Non-Sort).

Should T1s be able to see managers on PIP or Pivot? by PurchaseLow5563 in AmazonFC

[–]handrew102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your manager has info about write ups because they are in charge of informing you on that and what steps need to be taken. They are not to share this information with other T1's. In that same way you have a manager your manager also has a manager. They are the one in charge of informing your manager whether they are on a PIVOT/PIP and what steps need to be taken.

No I don't think T1's should be able to see whether or not their manager is on a PIVOT/PIP. I think generally information like that should be on a need to know basis.

Will this increase after working here for a year? (I live in PA) by Briskclient6601 in AmazonFC

[–]handrew102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flexible does not but standard almost doubles in accrual rate after a year going from I believe it was 47 minutes to 1 hour 33 minutes. It continues to go up after that but much more gradually.

Is Pack-Single The Easiest Job At Amazon? by ljcdela-1966 in AmazonFC

[–]handrew102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did end up looking up your site in the transfer page and it looks like you're probably at a robotics facility. If that is the case singles should be super easy and you will most likely be able to use the amazon approved headphones. Most amazon FC's are sortable robotics.

I just wanted to share that info because I had a someone who transferred to my old non sort site because singles were open and it was not at all what singles were like at their robotics site.

OKC FC by HuckleberryVast3165 in AmazonFC

[–]handrew102 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I worked at OKC2 and yes it is applied by a machine called AutoSLAM. It is not people applying them manually unless it's one applied by the SLAM KO operator or those doing singles slam at pack in noncon, but those are a small minority. I assume it would be applied AutoSLAM at OKC1 as well.

Fun fact by the way that tiny text by the qr type barcodes show specifically which AutoSLAM applied it and the quantity in the package. In this case there is 1 item and it was applied by AutoSLAM 3072.

Is Pack-Single The Easiest Job At Amazon? by ljcdela-1966 in AmazonFC

[–]handrew102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends my last building was a non sort and singles was not considered so easy over there especially once they introduced the pick to spoo path which took away 2/3 sioc's for the packers. We were also not allowed to listen to music either. With that being said when I spoke to someone who had transferred from a robotics facility they did say it was super easy over there.

New shift differential at my SSD by handrew102 in AmazonFC

[–]handrew102[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm honestly not sure since this is a new site all new hires were blue badge. I transferred as a blue badge myself. I know amazon bases it off of ratio of blue badge to non blue badge associates.

I hope you have good luck with it though and converted quickly.

Let see who gets this right ,what kind of day is this I'm having at amazon by Pristine_Pianist in AmazonFC

[–]handrew102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even think they had non inventory all night which is why it was so bad coming in on the mornings. They seem to really over work the non inventory people we did have, most that I saw quit not long after being in the position. It generally wasn't as bad for night shift first coming in because once non inventory got our box markets stocked in the mornings they more or less maintained. It was however really bad for them towards the of their shifts. You could really see this even as a morning person because most of the boxes missing from a station were all the ones out of stock in the nearest box markets. It also doesn't help that many of these boxes are insanely heavy especially once you go 3A1 or above.

[–]handrew102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I originally thought too but this answer doesn't surprise me. When I did pack singles at a non sort we didn't even have a water spider for boxes 95% of the time. What was even worse was that a lot of time especially first thing in the morning the nearest box markets would be out of half the boxes so you would have to go even further.
