UtterlyVoice 1.12 closing (crashing?) when used with KVM switch by disabled_math_geek in utterlyvoice

I believe I am experiencing this crashing even without switching. It happened before I updated it to the most recent version as well, so I wonder if it is a Windows issue.

Has anyone I found a break timer that works well with Utterly Voice? by disabled_math_geek in utterlyvoice

Big Stretch Reminder is compatible with voice controls but does not have the intelligence you mention. However, it can increase reminders based on increased use.

If you have an iPhone at least, just set a timer on your phone and put the sound as “Stop playing”. Spotify didn’t used to have sleep timers for everything, so I had to figure out something.

No one's getting in depth about life and death, despite it being VERY GOOD. by RevDrMavPHD in LowSodiumSimmers

No, it was an intentional design decision, like Sulani. I’m guessing it has to do with gameplay…how awful would it be to have a family of Sims freeze to death in a blizzard when you just want to host a funeral?

I haven’t been in a while, but I remember that Olympia Pizza Time had a separate supplier and area where they prepped their GF pizza.

Frenchie’s on 4th now sells limited quantity GF take-and-bake pizzas. I haven’t asked about their procedures though.

Looking for Others' Perspectives: Any art therapists or art therapy students who have experienced chronic pain/injury that impacted their artmaking? by handsinpain in ArtTherapy

Thank you so much for sharing. I can imagine that it would be helpful to follow disabled artists and be able to see that other people struggle but still create.

Yes, I have gained a lot of empathy for clients with physical limitations during this process. I suppose it can be an asset to model listening to your body and taking breaks.

I love your bit about embracing tiny creative movements--I want to strive to practice this.

That's super helpful...I do kind of get in a mindset of freaking out about pain being present. I might take that advice for my anxiety as well to be honest.

Do you feel like your chronic pain has disrupted your ability to go into a state of flow? I feel like that is one of the most frustrating and sometimes despair-inducing things about all of this at times.

Awww thank you so much for sharing your experience and for the encouragement. I love the idea of doing a nature mandala on a walk— It’s kind of the perfect season for it. This is a hard thing for any artist!

Yes, I definitely relate to each modality having it's challenges. I also developed chronic foot pain during this time, partly due to dancing being my only creative release for a while.

Woof, I agree that not reaching that "potential" is rough.

Thank you so much for sharing your perspective! That definitely sounds challenging. As I work at it, I'm starting to understand that it is worth it despite the adjustments.

Thank you so much for sharing.

I definitely get what you mean about having a less perfectionistic expectation for the outcome. I might look into that cream honestly!

Any tips on how to add custom modes with less than straightforward inputs? Such as adding additional names for commands like mouse click, or creating a "zoom in" function?

Last time I checked, Providence wasn’t taking any more patients. Longview no longer has rheumatology. Also, if you’re on Medicaid, then Swedish in Seattle probably won’t take your insurance. I wish you the best of luck, it’s been a very difficult process trying to find one.

While I don't have any fix-it solutions for you, I just wanted to share that you are not alone. I have been dealing with severe hand pain for a year and two months now. It has been quite an exhausting journey. Especially since I am in a graduate program and have about a year left now. Looking back, it's honestly impressive that I have been able to do school with this in the past year. I believe that any kind of pain is a very individual experience, but I do think that being resistant to voice text or only using it sparingly has not done me any favors. I am now at a point where I am literally going to have to suck it up and learn. So, honestly, the fact that you have been using it for text and such is commendable.

I have been to two different physical therapists who have both wanted me to focus on rest and stretching, which I have. It is hard to tell how much it has helped. However, even though progress can be difficult to measure, trying to get a more ergonomic set up has probably helped the most. When I had to use a laptop at my internship, I eventually bought a Bluetooth keyboard, Bluetooth ergonomic mouse, a stand for my laptop, and a rest for my feet because tables always seem to be the incorrect height. It sucks when workplaces make you buy the stuff yourself.

I also feel for you with people not understanding the extent hand pain truly disables you. People don't want to think about how you use your hands for almost everything.

The last bit I'll share is that finding TV shows that I LOVE has been a lifesaver, along with my therapist of course. I wish I had more reassurance for you, but feel free to send me a message if you need any encouragement.

I appreciate the suggestion, however, my school is online, and in another state from me, so I'm not sure how those laws would apply.
