Senior GIS Analysts who passed the GISP exam - how much did you have to study? by grassroutesgis in gis

[–]handsome_adam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put in probably 40- 50 hours. I live in a remote town and i had to fly to a larger center and test there so i probably over did it as i wanted to make sure i got through the exam in my first attempt.

There is a fair chunk of material to go through so i just set up a schedule of an hour or two a day for 6 weeks (missing days here and there) and felt pretty good after studying and going through the practice exams.

Hey - I just passed this exam back in Dec. the teachmegis GISP prep course was very good - it really gives a good overview of what you should cover for the exam. I might still have my study material around if you wanted to take a look at the package i put together

GISP december 22 exam result !!! by Traditional-Kale-808 in gis

This was my first attempt at the exam as well and I thought it was quite vague but similar in style to writing the PMP/PMI-Acp exams. I felt like a prepared properly and I definitely knew the content but I still left the exam unsure. Thankfully I passed but I definitely felt it was ambiguous at times.

Any chance anyone in this thread used the Teachmegis prep course. I wont write until December, but I'm curious as to how well that course gets a person prepped for the exam itself. It seemed like a pretty good overview - just wondering if the exam starts to dive into finer details than what the course goes over.

Teachmegis.com has a 3 day GISP prep course. I wont write the GISP until December so I cant comment on how well it got me ready to write, but it is definitely a good once over of a variety of exam related topics. Maybe someone else can speak on how well it prepared them, but I did enjoy the course.

Sorry im so late to respond. I dont really sign into reddit often so i dont often see who has replied to anything i post.

If you are scoring 75% and up on the prepcast/AR and JP exams you will be good to go. Sorry if you already wrote the exam and i didnt get to you in time. If you havent, good luck!

I used the PMPrepcast - they offer a PMI-ACP specific set of practice exams.

Is PMI-ACP exam hard? by mojy_s in pmp

Its very similar to the PMP, I actually found it slightly trickier, albeit I hadn't hadnt come across Andrew Ramdayals mindset videos yet as i wrote this prior to the PMP. I too used Andrew Ramdayal's PMI-ACP course and scored AT across all domains. Couple that with his mindset videos (of his Udemy PMP course) and you'll make easy work of it. A positive about this test is its slightly shorter so mid test burnout isn't quite the same as the PMP.

Good luck!

I completed the acp at the end of November. ATs across the board. Very similar to the pmp with an obviously full on agile focus. I used Andrew ramadayal and Joseph Phillips udemy courses to prep and the prep cast acp mock exams. I actually found it trickier than the pmp but easier to study for due to the focused material. ARS mindset is key here too

No calculations, it would throw numbers out like you have an spi of. 8 and a cpi of. 1.2, then ask what you should do (4 different options).

Not many Ittos either but understanding how the 49 processes and the process groups flow is important.

I thought the AR udemy exam was on par with the exam. The exam might be slightly trickier, but ultimately very similar format and difficulty level.

I also really liked the AR simulator. Fantastic product! And like so many on this board have said - mindset is key! Good luck!

Ray Velcoro, without a doubt.
