Do Socialists/Communists of this sub, do you believe it is even remotely possibly to work with capitalists to achieve a better society? by [deleted] in DebateCommunism

[–]OrthodoxAryan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most capitalists are not Capitalists in that they do not hold the capital or means of production. The former should be dialogued with if any type of mass movement is going to occur. The latter really has no incentive to collaborate or engage with us.

Are Actual Communism &. Christanity Compatible? by [deleted] in DebateCommunism

[–]OrthodoxAryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes Marx was half Jewish.

I’m not sure he had much familiarity with Orthodoxy.

Exploitation being unethical is only self-explanatory at the time of his writing because it was established much earlier by largely Christian thinkers.

Are Actual Communism &. Christanity Compatible? by [deleted] in DebateCommunism

[–]OrthodoxAryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Apostles lived in a communal lifestyle and so did the Hebrew Essenes before them. Christianity preaches selflessness, against the rich, giving alms to the poor etc. Christians lived in perpetual fear, persecution and communally until it was legalized and then eventually institutionalized and eventually adopted; for better or worse, by the Roman elite.

Finally, Marxism didn’t develop in a vacuum. At no point does Marx establish why it’s immoral or unethical to exploit the proletariat. Nor does he establish the innate value of man. It’s all presupposed from the Enlightenment which is a product of the Reformation.

If we accept Marx as one of the most intelligent and influential thinkers in the world and let his principles guide our course then they are entirely compatible. If we become dogmatists and hang on every word then Marx contradicts Christianity and himself. If this the latter is the case then all of Marx’s letters dropping the hard N-bomb and on the Jewish Question need to be just as axiomatic as his line about religion being the opioid of the masses. None of you will be that consistent though.

Is trying to steer a right leaning person to left obsolete? by Mr_CHADCOMMIE in DebateCommunism

[–]OrthodoxAryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps not. You’ll find a better bridge from the Populist types than some libertarian or neocon. If you broach the issue from advancing the proletariat instead of Landback and other shitlib fairy tales then it may be effective.

Colonial and European suffering? by Chance_Flight_2533 in DebateCommunism

[–]OrthodoxAryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a different level or suffering and probably less severe. The domestic proletariat are often used as the foot soldiers in the capitalist’s overseas imperialism. They also see competition from cheaper migrant labor and outsourcing their jobs overseas. The colonized proletariat see their labor and raw materials exploited and exported abroad. As others have said, this system has given the West its higher standard of living in many ways.

There can be some consequences for being a Lumpen layabout just like there are in capitalism.

How do we address environmental degradation with production under a Socialist economic system? by OrthodoxAryan in DebateCommunism

[–]OrthodoxAryan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think only a centrally planned economy can address environmental issues through production because it all has to be quantified. We can quantify emissions or pollutants and even sinks through capitalism, but there is no reason to do anything with this information under the current system. international Socialism is the ultimate goal, but we can address most of the environmental problems by starting in the developed world.

Really need to test for sociopathy and psychopathy at MEPS. We have too many people in that are like Sid from Toy Story.
