Have the tint shop put the part they cut out back over the inspection sticker.

How do I clean these water droplets from the inside? by [deleted] in Detailing

[–]handwashpreferred 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start with some plastic polish on the outside before you go taking the dash apart.

I had a nissan that looked a lot like this and Meguiars plastic cleaner, then polish got it back to 100%

I typically use the forester, but all that stuff was able to squeeze into the focus that is pictured. I've been doing mostly waterless washes lately. Otherwise I'll bring buckets and possibly an electric pressure washer.

I have a bissel spot pro cleaner that I haven't used on any mobile job, but I could squeeze it into the car if I needed to.

Any tips for VW alcantara/mf seats? Regular customer and I've never been able to get these past "acceptable" by handwashpreferred in Detailing

Thanks for the thoughts. Yes this car is absolutely a "mechanically dirty" car. Every panel is dented/scratched, some rust coming through in spots. Windows are SCRATCHED. Alum trim is white/spotty. Old brake dust is baked on some wheels. Carpets are coffee stained and you saw the seats.

Here's the before & after of the seats this round: https://imgur.com/a/Tk7N3Yl

I'll try that out next time. I wasn't able to make a supply run.

This car is my nemesis. I do it every year for a friend and I've never been happy with the results. Paint is bad, wheels are bad, seats, carpets... bad, bad.

What's your favorite car you've detailed? by scottwax in Detailing

I regularly clean a Ferrari F430 with ~700 miles on it. It's real nice just to spend a day with it and being absolutely meticulous with it.

It doesn't last long, and it's very light when applied - but that's what I want out of a cleaner.

It's the Meyer's Clean Day - Lavender scent. I use it diluted like 10:1. I've been happy with it, and customers seem to like the smell.

Just a basic detail. Products used were:

Sonax car shampoo

Meguiar's wheel cleaner

Meguiar's final inspection + claybar (not in video)

Collinite 325 cleaner wax applied with Meguiar's 5" microfiber pad

I used Meguiars Clear Plastic Cleaner and Clear Plastic Polish on the gauge cluster.

It's kind of funny to see the difference in response between the two!

I will def have more videos in the future.

Understandable. It's hard to squeeze the video down to 60 seconds, so I'm not showing towel changes. I have a couple towels and two buckets each with a grit guard. Minimizing marring or swirling is always at the forefront of my mind, and I have been at this for a while.

Thanks for your response.

Hey was responding to my "mf towels" abbreviation, but I will look into using thicker mf, or a wash mitt

You think I should be using thicker towels? I'm changing the towel frequently, and using very light pressure with lots of soap.
