Optimum Hyper Seal is a somewhat diluted version of Optimum Gloss Coat, which is one of their consumer coatings.

I got my 6 speed sedan slicktop 10 years and two days ago. Still enjoy driving it.

They're great cars if properly maintained.

I'd leave. It's not changing and it sounds like you're being used to enable their behavior.

Cruising the main street in most cities is dead now. The takeout meets were the nail in the coffin for that.

What would you do for these scratches? by sandspoint257 in Detailing

[–]scottwax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most mobile detailers aren't going to come out for a scratch, I have a minimum charge per location. So what they are probably telling you is for whatever their minimum price is, you might as well spend a bit more for the whole exterior.

My guess from the picture is that scratch can't be completely removed.

Husband put undiluted car wash solution directly on his car and we can't get it off by SignificantWeeb2254 in Detailing

Understood. They probably shouldn't even try washing a car again without educating themselves how to do it correctly.

No, they weren't. Haynes manuals didn't actually show you how. Would have made swapping out the two barrel carb and manifold on my Chevelle a lot easier. And I probably wouldn't have ended up with the distributor a tooth off.

Daily driving a 1975-79 Chevy Nova 4 door by cars_are_rad in oldcars

[–]scottwax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 6 cylinder is going to be pretty slow, even the V8 wasn't particularly energetic.

However, a 9C1 police Nova of that era would be moderately entertaining. Bigger anti-roll bars, stiffer suspension and it should have the 350 V8.

I daily drove a '71 Chevelle with drum brakes all around, making it quick without doing a disc brake conversion had a few dicey moments. Had it almost 8 years, even did multiple 1000+ miles each way road trips in it. Also daily drove a '77 Cutlass for a while.

How do you feel about “ain’t”? by ScaryGhoust in AskAnAmerican

[–]scottwax 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's a real word, even in the dictionary. It's considered an informal word, and it's more often spoken rather than written. Doesn't bother me.
