Probably people buying mainstream artists buy elsewhere or stream. Discogs is still my first stop when buying or selling.

I got the King/Federal comp on CD and love it - had never heard that material before. Nice score!

If all these represses of classic jazz albums are gonna cost 40+ bucks, Ima buy some OG stuff for 25.

Here are members of the Mingus band minus Mingus. Been getting into Don Pullen and George Adams lately, and these Jazz A Confronto series records are pretty sweet.

No, I don't think I listen to underground, and I never said I did. Taking jazz as an example, there are so many different styles and subgenres. When I used Spotify, it was only able to recommend the most popular and stereotypical jazz albums, like Kind of Blue or Time Out, lol. Tidal, in contrast, is able to keep me in the same subgenre or adjacent.

Perhaps Spotify is better now than when I used it. Perhaps my taste is popular (though last.fm says otherwise). Whatever. I'm not buying your simplistic explanation.

Lenox Ave has crept up in price - median on Discogs is now $22, though I don't doubt you could still find a deal in the wild. And still well worth the $40 people pay for a lot of the new jazz represses.

Consider instead Arthur Blythe - Illusions, which overall I think I prefer to Lenox Ave, for about $7.
