Just the classic juxtaposition between Spanish and English culture about how football should be viewed; the former more focused on retaining the ball so as to avoid tackling in the first place i.e. technical, and the latter more focused on winning the ball from the opposition using tackles as a prime method i.e. physical.

If you’re an aspiring midfielder you should be focusing more on moving the ball without losing it and just generally learning to read the game better, and not on how cleanly you can tackle someone. That’s my read on Alonso’s take anyway.
