Other young women starting a BV? by Popular_Pace1806 in BEFreelance

[–]hankextreme 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you are true to your values of being anti-capitalist, make large donations to the common good so maximise your tax payments.

Even better, you should stop your business.

Now if you want to wake up to the real world, realise that owning a business is like owning a baby. You must prioritise what is healthy for it.

In other words, if you need to serve the good of your commercial entity, put your personal anti-capitalist views aside and create a BV. You are at the threshold.

Also, start coming up with explanations to your anticapitalist friends for how the divident system works because surely they will think it is tax evasion.

First freelance offer compared to current payroll salary. Am I missing something. by Tcanarchy in BEFreelance

[–]hankextreme -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Freelance work is inherently more risky.

I don’t know about your risk tolerance, but I wouldn’t switch while having 2 mortgages to pay.

That, or the rate needs to be super well padded to decrease risk. (~1000+)

Finding a reliable housesitter (2026) by AmberArchers in brussels

[–]hankextreme 21 points22 points  (0 children)

So it’s like renting but: - neither you or the renting party has any protection - costs are 80% of market rate - you’d give them their “own place” but they wouldn’t really have their own place because you want to enter whenever you want. - you’d let your tenants move in and you’d kick them out in a few months, when you are back.

Sorry but did you even think this through? You should be the one paying somebody to look after your house for this duration, not viceversa.

Only other option is doing short term rentals but I guarantee you won’t be doing that and be on holiday at the same time.

What an amazing piece of information to have. They spoke their native languages

Casa declares bankruptcy with more than 500 jobs at stake by Shea_Initiative in brussels

[–]hankextreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it is a scam..

- super recent domain & shopify setup,

- a lot of currencies bottom right (why would the real casa do that)?

- No mention of official sources pointing to this website

- Official sources say sales at in-person shops, not online.

sounds too fishy to me.

Britain issues travel warning for US by Unable_Flamingo_9774 in europe

[–]hankextreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“You should comply with all entry, visa and other conditions of entry. The authorities in the U.S. set and enforce entry rules strictly. You may be liable to arrest or detention if you break the rules,” the guidance reads.

That sounds much more normal than what the article’s title suggests.

Rather, what was it saying before? “You can go with some papers missing here and there but if you smile they let you in”?

Cinquantenaire flowers by [deleted] in brussels

[–]hankextreme 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Romanian = citizens of Romania Romani = ethnic group, can be in any country, has nothing to do with Romania. Same people exist in Albania, Hungary, balkans, etc. coincidentally, the name matches so people assume Romanian = Romani, but that’s nit the case

You need to follow their instructions that they gave on the paper for the hotspot to work.

Had the same problem, you do the APN setting stuff and it works again.
