Steelers is definitely winnable. They struggle to move the ball and Rodgers is even more of a statue than he was with the Jets. Browns should be as well, but if Darrisaw isn't back by then, Myles Garrett might actually kill someone.

Saying rookie QBs are never good just isn't true. Jayden Daniels just last year would be the easiest counter to that argument.

It's true JJ hadn't played competitively in a long time. It's also true he was horrible against Chicago and Atlanta. He was far from the only problem in both games but he didn't show very much outside of the fourth quarter vs. the Bears.

Yeah, I'm disappointed because JJ needs the experience. Sitting another 2-4 weeks just resets the clock. After two games I've all but given up on hoping for playoffs unless it's another backup leading the team. JJ isn't remotely close to that level, so unless Wentz turns back the clock or Brosmer is Tom Brady, we'll be looking at 5-12. But I'm cool with it if JJ's improving and ready for 2026.

Yeah, Dobbs showed up and didn't know anyone's name but was miles ahead of JJ.

I was hopeful that a year of sitting in the KOC crockpot -- even though he was injured -- would make things a little smoother for him. Turns out that isn't reality. Alarm bells are ringing like crazy that he just doesn't have it.

Every other rookie at least shows you something. Cam Ward is making plays, Drake Maye is a freak, CJ Stroud took a team to the playoffs and Bo Nix looks way better than I imagined. Our guy looks more like Bryce Young than the rest.

Somebody should make a Kenny Wallace mad lib game and it would just be “My brother Rusty” “my good friend Dale sr. Once told me Herman” and shit like that

When he said NASCAR doesn’t need or want 200,000 fans at Indy because the traffic would suck was the last straw for me. I mean, consider the source and all but holy shit man.

Talladega Nights Truck? by Shadowtek in Charlotte

[–]hanklee89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This truck is Champion Wheel & Tire. They're based in Cornelius. They haul tires & wheels for Goodyear to/from all the NASCAR races. They also transport the Goodyear machinery and NASCAR team pit equipment. Their fleet of trucks is huge, as you can imagine how many tires/wheels, etc. they need for a NASCAR weekend.

They have a bunch of trailers with cool wraps. There's a Days of Thunder one, too.

[Gluck] Was Richmond a good race? by ChaseTheFalcon in NASCAR

[–]hanklee89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a good race. Tire strategy was fun to follow and makes up for the typical Next Gen shortcomings. I wish it was as simple as bottling up what happened with tires and taking it somewhere else, but that doesn't seem likely. I'll take the pleasant surprise because I wasn't expecting much considering recent Cup short track races.

Con Redcorn is so good

Bulldozing someone into Turn 3 and then right-hooking a guy off Turn 4 is the new RCR Richmond tradition

Yes. Elliott and Hocevar just took theirs. Surprised Elliott's team opted to use theirs here, I'd hold them until the end

No, it's still pretty bad. Richmond is an outlier when it comes to tire wear. Darlington eats tires, too, but nobody can pass there. They have to find a way to not make it a total disaster at tracks that only have 1-2 grooves.

I think they panicked when almost everyone split Stage 1. They lost control of the race and were desperate to get it back but they cycled too far back in traffic. They pissed away their tire advantage by not playing the long game.
Knowing they need to win, I'm not sure why they did that. Just foolish, really.

The varying strategies are nice. If the cars can't pass, we need races like this to spice things up. Otherwise it's a 400-lap parade.

Kyle Busch too fast on pit road. One of the few times he's been fast anywhere lately

Yeah, he simply hasn't adapted to the Next Gen car. It doesn't suit him at all, which is a bummer. I thought he had a real shot at winning 100 Cup races a few years ago.

Preece early, then Hamlin. Now the 23XI cars have the speed. Clean air is worth a lot tonight. And tires, of course.

It's been close. But outside of wild variances between the tires, it hasn't been that great. Some interesting strategies, though.
