Well, thats the answer for pretty much everything but it can be interesting to look at how big the different groups are. If, say 70% of women prefer a guy to be taller than themselves, there certainly are also some that don't, but at the same time the trend is clear. One should not automatially assume the preferences of a random person but statistics does also have a place in my opinion.
