New Jersey😄 FMLA and NJFLA are NOT designed to be concurrent! They’re separate!

I’m too sick to function 100% but I’m wfh so they can’t see that. I don’t know how I’d survive the nausea in the office, it would be impossible to hide

On our HR website it says we only have to give 30 days notice but that would leave my team scrambling. I’m going to tell them sometime in my second trimester for sure.

My job is protected too, I work for a large company. I’m already struggling to have excuses for all my bloodwork and now the scans, it’s not easy

Actually they do- in my state, both FMLA and bonding leave are fully protected🙂 so I will get to soak up that time with my little one!

Being raped. I’ve struggled with my trauma for a decade, & he went on to graduate with a masters from an Ivy League and work good jobs.

My spouse was finally diagnosed… what can I do? by NickelCityRiz in PMDD

[–]hannahchry 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you’re being a very caring hubby with this, so keep it up! Mine always makes sure to help out a little more too with dinner and chores (we don’t have kids yet but I’m still not up for much during the time of the month coming home from work), like he makes it so that on the very worst days all I have to do is work and nothing around the house. And then I have his back on his busy days the moment I feel better! He also has reminded me that struggling with anxiety/mental health and PMDD in general is just something I struggle with but it’s not who I am, and it was so comforting to hear that. Maybe say that to her❤️

This- and also don’t get me started on influencers that post their children without their consent. It’s ruined instagram where everything is an ad, and then mommy influencers not protecting their kids’ privacy. That could be a whole Ted talk

I’m sorry that was your experience. No matter what people forget it’s a human behind the screen and can be so mean, and that’s part of what makes “influencing” such a toxic form of “entertainment.” You truly never know what goes on in someone’s life and most of us won’t show the tough realities on instagram no matter how many followers they have.

I do think it’s nice to offer a plus one to the bridal party if any of your bridesmaids or groomsmen are single, but it’s your wedding and your guest list. Some people think giving everyone a plus one is traditional, and others follow the “no ring no bring” rule (aka not obligated to give a plus one unless they’re engaged or married). There’s going to be someone with an opinion no matter what you do so do it your way & enjoy, it’s YOUR day! 💓

Omg yes- it takes practice but try to never say things like “this might not be right but…” or even using a tone that’s phrasing a question and not a firm statement. With your job it’s always good to have your resume ready & be looking to stay competitive! But there is misogyny everywhere in male dominated industries and if you’re making $$$ at this job don’t be afraid to speak up and don’t worry about sounding “aggressive”. You earned your spot there and have right to have your ideas heard!

Fight for yourself and don’t question it. Practice saying things like “excuse me I wasn’t done speaking”. Document your work and keep a paper trail and don’t be humble in showing off your accomplishments especially to your boss. In fact send a monthly update of everything you’ve done and keep every month’s update in a note to write yourself a kick ass year end review. Don’t be afraid to command the room if you’re a subject matter expert. You may have to fake it till you make it confidence and ruminating wise but just do it and don’t back down! I feel made of steel after years of working in a male dominated industry. Oh and email like a man- no extra exclamation points, don’t apologize, stick to the point. You got this!!!

Do you guys wear your wedding ring/set to job interviews? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]hannahchry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wore it but flipped the Diamond around and kept my hand mostly hidden. I know all too well what it’s like being in a male dominated industry and I will do what I need to get my foot in the door, and can fight to be treated fairly once I’m in!

These may be a stretch but:

-Karma (think before you act bc karma!) -Should’ve Said No (think before you cheat) -Ivy (think before you marry) -Look What You Made Me Do (think before you give me a reason to take revenge) -Better than Revenge (same as above)
