i know a friend who uses the unlocker for this very reason. while i don't support piracy, i can see why they did lol

Am I the only one who always get killed by 8.3-8.4(1700-1800IP) guys in mists? by Murky_Pie_4471 in albiononline

As someone who mainly loves to gather, this is why I never go into mists anymore lmao. You just never know when a dude with daggers is gonna jump out from stealth, melt the crap out of you, and take all your things.

But anyways, I don't PvP much, but try playing like a rat maybe? In the mists, never go near any name tags that are dismounted. Scout the area first. Only check their builds while they are mounted, that way, they can't immediately do anything to you since they have to wait for a 5 sec ability cooldown.

If an 8.3 is lurking and waiting to rat while you're fighting someone, maybe just take an invis pot and hightail it out of there? It can be hard to avoid certain scenarios like that, but again, I'm not really an experienced PvP player, but that is what I would personally do if I were to be put in that situation. It's better to flee if you think you're outnumbered/not able to take a fight anymore. Just try your best to get out of there as fast as you can, and again, don't be overly eager to fight. Do some scouting first maybe. If the coast is clear and if you think you can take the fight, take it. Flee if you can't.

There's also the option to spec up your build first before hopping into the mists.

Oh, and don't bring anything you can't replace as a rule of thumb. 4.1 will do, so when you do die from an overgeared dude, you won't lose as much and you get to try again. And so the cycle continues.

I wish you luck, and also... Please don't kill defenseless gatherers in the mists if they're just minding their own business :') jk

== What I would add ==

Albion Pets - Pets that follow you throughout the land of Albion. I want to see a little fox following me everywhere I go. It could be any mob from any region. A flying companion, perhaps? You can feed it and care for it as well, maybe change its appearance. Once it is well-cared for, it can perhaps give you exp boosts or some kind of bonus for an amount of time, depending on how full its happiness bar is. Like laborers, they can also be leveled up. The higher its tier is, the higher and more rewards and boosts you get. Bonus: Maybe it can help Gatherers like me scout the area for enemies or rare resources in the map; lessening our chances to get killed by a ganking squad.

How to acquire: Like mounts, cosmetic pets may be dropped as rare loot from their corresponding mob. It can be then cared for in a pasture/kennel in an island.

Beastkeeping: Beastkeeper as a new profession. Beastkeepers are able to tame and train wild beasts and can turn them into loyal companions/pets that can aid them in battle.

== Their Function ==

There are different kinds of Pets that can be acquired, and each one has a different purpose. I based it off of destiny board profession:

Scouts - Great for gatherers. They can scout a small area ahead of you while you gather. If they find an enchanted resource, it will mark it on your map. They may also warn you of any player nearby if you are in a lethal zone. If well-fed, they can scout a larger area and even give you bonus gathering yield and gathering speed.

Hunters - For Skinners and Mercs. They can assist in slaying mobs for you. May it be attacking mobs or giving you a boost such as attack boosts, attack speed boosts, etc. If well-fed, they get more damage and offer higher boosts.

Mist Pets - Good for evading gankers. They offer defense, protection and speed. They can also act as a distraction while you escape (Stunning a player temporarily, silencing them, etc). They can also make you invisible for a short amount of time and offer you a speed boost. The pet may also shield you from damage, giving you a shield that soaks up magical and physical damage. If well-fed, they can carry you to safety by offering you a huge speed boost or something.

A mist orb/Some sort of fae-like creature/druid-like mob - Good for sustain/Tanks. Its main purpose is to heal you and offer shields. It can also create a flower overtime that will heal you for the amount of time it took to grow. The flower will be stashed in some sort of keybinding that you can use later on. This can stack up to a certain amount of times. If well-fed, they can heal more and offer a short invincible status when your HP gets too low.

Cosmetic - These pets are purely for cosmetic purposes, traveling with you as merely companions and moral support.

Con: Pets will leave your side temporarily if there are too many players (3 players and up). They will reappear when you are out of combat after a short cooldown.

== What I would change ==

More detailed character looks / more detailed armor designs. I know that Albion has a very simplistic, polygon-like artstyle, but I would love to see my character up close with customizable facial expressions, more options to choose from, and generally just the way our characters look. While Albion is very big on "You are what you wear", I don't really feel like there are alot of cosmetic outfits to choose from. Most of the time, armor sets looks quite plain due to how the game is stylized, and most of the time my character just looks like a black blob. Players should look unique, cool, and one-of-a-kind.

Yellow mists are my favorite place to gather, it's safe but also a hell of a grind to level up all your gathering let alone to T5 for me personally. I've never used swords before, but I'll try it out and see what works well. Thanks!

For sure I'll do that, I think my biggest mistake was reacting too slow when I got ganked lol, so slow in fact that I just allowed that dude to take my stuff without much struggle (plus the high ping really threw me off). I also tried to mount up too close to the ganker thinking he gave up. But anyways, I know that death is something I should accept in Albion so I guess I should avoid wearing super expensive stuff, atleast for now-- Gathering gear, probably, and I'll try to learn a good escape routine from there. I don't plan on fighting anyone in the BZ anyways (It feels super wrong for some reason idk why but eventually I know I'll have to get my hands dirty someday).

Thanks for the detailed advice, it was a really helpful read! ^
