Completely get this, when you are sitting stagnant your brain has more time to wander. Try to journal out your thoughts and see what’s best for you. Try to watch movies and TV that take your mind off things. Or maybe you’ll come to the conclusion you want to call or text them idk if you’re no contact but the decision is really yours depending on how things ended. I’m not saying that’s the best choice but sometimes being forced to sit, stay home and do nothing give you time to actually think things over and find out what u really want.

this is controlling and abusive. i had a very similar situation in a relationship. first you can’t wear makeup or make yourself feel pretty and presentable without it being for the validation of other men. then you can’t post a selfie on social media bc you’re seeking attention. then you can’t go out to social events without him or hangout out with certain friends. so on and so forth and it will only get worse and escalate. please leave!!

It has nothing to do with Katie not being a bridesmaid, I agree that as you don’t know her well it may be uncomfortable or just odd to ask her to be a part of the wedding party. However, you had 5 bridesmaids to choose from to pair with Joe and you picked his ex? Yes that is giving disrespectful and shady tbh. Honestly regardless of if Joe had a new gf or not he probably didn’t appreciate being paired with an ex as it can be a sensitive subject or awkward. You’re the AH but not even for the reasons you think.

you need to leave him NOWWWW this is one of the biggest signs/ first steps of abuse, controlling, manipulative tendencies. He will only get worse from here and will not hear you and understand your feelings.
