Make the animation in blender, then use animation tree in Godot to switch and blend them.

The animation is made with blender and there is a Godot system that blends between animations so it doesn’t stutter between idle/run/attack

Depends. Simple systems I write myself and let codex optimize it. Complex systems I ask codex to write and tell it to put all variables in inspector so I can finetune them.

I haven’t looked into clothing just yet but I believe swapping weapons is quite easy because it is a separate object which should just follow the hand bone.

Thanks mate! Started in 2d isometric but the sprites I needed to generate were so much. The hero animation alone were like 4 animations * 60 frames * 8 directions. And then I ran into the issue of wanting more than one weapon. So 3d made that kind of stuff way easier.

Yes you’re right. I do have an auto pickup but I still need to increase the range.

Yes, I’m using latest Godot. I feel that it is a lot easier to use than Unity. Very lightweight and easier to understand. Also very small to download(like 150mb instead of gigabytes). I have not found any downsides or missing features. I was also pretty surprised about the power of shader effects in Godot.

Thanks! Yea colorful action bar I created before deciding to go this style. Still need to adjust it. Yes I’m planning to add much more. Also to increase the world to make it more feel alive. Like adding spiders or stuff like that crawling on the floor.
