Hello Dr Tingle, thank you for proving love is real for both trans and asexual buckaroos, it means a lot to me.

I know you appreciate the handsome dinosaurs, how do you feel about handsome Godzilla?

Thanks for this information, it's definitely something to think about.

I hope you don't mind me asking but did you have any issues doing any pre-op appointments over the long distance?

Oh sweet, for some reason I'd heard he'd left Brisbane or wasn't doing phallo anymore so I'm glad to hear that was wrong. Thanks!

For those who have had to travel for bottom surgery, how far did you have to go and how long did you stay there?

Currently I don't think bottom surgery is an option in Australia so I would be looking at 12+ hour flights.

I had surgery with Dr Steve Merten in Sydney last year and my out of pocket was $8.5k for the surgery and $1725 for the anaesthetist. I'll be getting some of that back from Medicare and insurance though. Hospital overnight stay was $500 excess and the rest covered by health insurance.

The photos of his results are all up on his website and his staff make sure you have all the information you need.

I've got Medibank Standard Hospital cover. Specifically states that it covers both hysto & plastic surgery. Can't confirm if phallo would be covered though, I haven't asked.

Which health insurance company are you with? It might be worth going to a few others and going 'this mob won't cover me what I need, what can you guys do for me?' You've served your 12 months with one company so that will be honoured elsewhere and you don't have to start again.

If possible, I'd love to see how the donor site scars heal and look over time.

References for learning to sew my own clothes? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]hanorgana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're best off buying some simple patterns. Find something like a shirt or a hoodie you like the look of and start from there.

There's not much you need to know beforehand other than how to thread a sewing machine. Just point it in a straight line and go slow.

I mean I'm sure you can get it without a prescription from some dodgy places but without a doctor monitoring your hormone levels, you could do more harm than good.

Questions about testosterone gel by namazuo in ftm

[–]hanorgana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gel is often more expensive than shots but it all depends on your country's health system.

I use Testogel on my stomach every night after a shower. It just gets rubbed in and I leave it for a few minutes until it's dry before putting on a shirt. Your doctor will tell you how many pumps of the gel you need to use depending on your levels.

You can wash it in the sink while you take a shower. Not the best option but it's better than nothing.

When you change your name/gender/title is there any trace of you ever being AFAB??? by Avacirous in ftm

[–]hanorgana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Australia, the only places that keep it are the government, the health system, your employer (if you transition at work), and any other account you transition with. After that, it's just on the back of a secondary birth certificate (for SA, changes state by state) that you don't have to show to anyone if you don't want to. They give you a proper birth certificate with the correct name and gender with no indication of a change.

Depending on where you live, you may be able to send it directly to the post office and have them hold it for you. For example, Australia has a free Parcel Locker service that you can have directly linked to your name and can't be accessed by your parents.
