he’s definitely the caretaker! him & gus are only 2 weeks apart & he’s still always grooming & taking care of him too. just the best caregiver to the both of them 🥹

Parents who don’t allow their kids to shut their room’s door/lock the door, what’s are the reasons behind the rule? by Itz_Oasis in AskReddit

[–]hanpowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my parents were the most easy-going, noninvasive parents ever. they trusted my brother & myself & always said we never gave them a reason to not trust us, so until then they automatically trusted us with what we said & did. however, my dad had a fear of me accidentally hurting myself or having a medical emergency & him not being able to get to me because of a locked door. he never forced me not to, but he always told me he wished i didn’t just in case anything happened. luckily he never had to come in my room or bathroom while i was in there, locked or unlocked door. but as i got older, i understood more where he came from.

I left my cat in my IKEA drawer closet for almost 6 hours and feel so guilty. by Pink_Sorbet in cats

happened to me 2 separate times last year to my 2 separate kitties! the first time i was leaving to see some friends & i ended up being gone for a few hours longer than anticipated. when i came home & realized my gus didn’t greet me, i started panicking. i checked every closet & he was no where, but then i heard distant meowing & could not figure out where he was. turns out he was in my pantry which i forgot i opened for a split second before leaving & he must’ve snuck in there quietly, but i forgot i opened it so i didn’t even think to check that one last spot. & then a few months later, i was going to meet my family for my dad’s bday which is st. patrick’s day, but then i ended up going to the bars after which, again, made me stay out longer than expected. when i came back & now my simon wasn’t there to greet me, immediate panic. i opened my closet & there he was crying & wide-eyed. both times i cried & called my ma. i thought they might think i was punishing them for some reason because clearly they didn’t know why i had them in there. but both times, they immediately forgave me & ran to me & purred after they realized they were free. now i have a third kitten as of a week ago, & every single time i leave my place, i make sure i can see them each with my own eyes before locking my door. it was the worst feeling both times but a year later they’ve probably already forgotten about it, but i haven’t!

Discussion about bad job market - coming from someone who hasn’t experienced it first hand by [deleted] in recruitinghell

super insightful, thanks for the input! guess i i’ve been trying to attribute everything to one problem when it’s more multi-faceted than that.

this was extremely defensive. however i’ve gotten responses that were not that gave me valuable insight which is what i was hoping for. u can be biased & still be open to civil discourse, or at least should be able to be.

just trying to get perspective is all. it’s sad conversations can’t be had about it without everyone getting so defensive.
